Guy Béranger, a dangerous child murderer is at the end of his prison sentence. His release on parole to the custody of the monks at Vielsart Abbey leads to an outcry from the nearby village. The majority of the abbey’s monks are suspicious of bringing “a monster” into their peaceful enclave, however a young monk called Lucas wants to believe in Béranger’s redemption. But when a young girl disappears on the outskirts of the abbey, the village is in uproar. Chloé Muller, a young inspector based in Brussels, is assigned to the investigation to protect Béranger, bringing her face-to-face with the fears and secrets of the seemingly peaceful local community.
Chloé has no leads on Noémie's whereabouts. A child’s drawing catches her attention: it depicts Noémie holding hands with a giant, deer-headed figure. The investigation leads Chloé and Michaël to the illegal depot for a network of poachers.
