Season 1 episodes (3)

1 Part One
5/31/20
Just a short hitchhike above the noise and neon of the Sunset Strip, Laurel Canyon was a rural oasis that drew young musicians. Love was free, hair was long, and doors were unlocked. They lived together, they took drugs together, formed bands, broke up those bands, and formed other bands. The rustic atmosphere brought out their talents and was the center for this community that clashed and collaborated to create a brand new sound. They perfected that sound at local clubs, and pretty soon the world took notice.
2 Part Two
6/7/20
The artists who thrived in Laurel Canyon found themselves at the forefront of a global musical stage. With bigger paychecks and harder drugs, the scene began to shift. The neighborly feeling from the early years disappeared after the Manson murders. In spite of it all, a new wave of troubadours came in and continued to captivate those beyond their rustic home. It was only a short period of time in the grand scheme of things, but there’s a part of the Laurel Canyon magic that will endure forever—the music that defined a generation.
