Season 4 episodes (12)

1 Death Stars
8/18/09
For most, it's the deadly centerpiece of the film Star Wars. But in truth, real death stars are in the final stage of life before they explode into supernovae and, occasionally, the biggest blast in the universe--the gamma ray burst (GRB).
2 The Day the Moon Was Gone
8/18/09
Without the moon, Earth would be a very different and desolate place today--four hours of sunlight with pitch-black nights, steady 100-mph winds spawning giant hurricanes that last for months, and virtually no complex life forms, much less humans.
3 It Fell From Space
9/1/09
Every year, thousands of objects both natural and manmade plummet through our atmosphere and crash into the Earth. These menacing messengers from the sky provide scientists with amazing insights into the natural, and not so natural, phenomena.
4 Biggest Blasts
9/1/09
The Universe is full of explosions that both create and destroy. The Chicxulub impact on the Yucatan peninsula, which may have wiped out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago, was two million times more powerful than the largest nuclear bomb ever detonated.
5 The Hunt for Ringed Planets
9/1/09
They are breathtaking, lethal and a constant source of surprise. The stunning rings of Saturn have mesmerized countless scientists over the centuries.
6 10 Ways to Destroy the Earth
9/22/09
Don't try this at home! In this episode, our experts cook up ten ways you could destroy the earth, including: swallowing it with a microscopic black hole and blowing it up with anti-matter.
7 The Search for Cosmic Clusters
9/29/09
They are the one-stop-shopping places for learning all about the nature and variety of stars in the Universe. They're unique, because in clusters, all the stars were born at about the same time.
8 Space Wars
10/6/09
Outer space is already an essential part of America's ability to fight wars. Our military depends on satellites for many things, such as communications, reconnaissance and targeting information.
9 Liquid Universe
10/20/09
On alien planets, they rain from the sky as scalding iron. On distant moons, even at hundreds of degrees below zero, they slosh around in pristine lakes of methane. They can cover entire planets in miles-deep oceans of electrified hydrogen metal.
10 Pulsars and Quasars
10/27/09
They sort of sound like the same phenomenon, but Pulsars and Quasars are very different. Pulsars are tiny--only a few miles across--but they spin as fast as a kitchen blender.
11 Science Fiction. Science Fact.
11/3/09
Warp speed, transporters, wormholes and lasers--they are all staples of science fiction books, movies, and TV shows. But the fantastic world of tomorrow is quickly becoming the futuristic world of today.
12 Extreme Energy
11/10/09
Ours is a universe of energy, from powerful jets ejected from black holes to the raw nuclear fury of our Sun. But, the total amount of energy in the universe maintains perfect equilibrium--no more can be added or taken away.

About this show

How were ancient builders, including those at Stonehenge, able to create structures around the world with one consistent unit of measurement - the "megalithic yard"- despite being oceans apart? This premium H2 miniseries event uses experts and CGI from The Universe to reveal the answer and demonstrate how our past is connected to the history of the universe.

Love how they give one the standard list of options to choose from in answer to anything archaeological; ESPECIALLY the pyramids of Giza Plateau. Oh yeah don't look too closely at the machine tool marks remnant on precisely cut granite and limestone . Nor the absolutely PERFECT symmetry of anything intending to be so, especially sculptures . Egyptians built the pyramids ? YEAH; ..........that's what happened ! It sucks that I can't watch these anymore. I just can't go back and not know what I have been shown. Have you ever wished you didn't know something , because you can no longer be a part of. It's like shortly after learning Santa Claus isn't real. Nostalgia . Just for a second. They make these so interesting and they sound so groundbreaking in discovery and leave one in awe of mainstream Archaeology. It's just a second; because once you are turned on to what isn't being really looked at ; and your eyes open to what becomes clear and make sense ; a whole new world and history opens up your mind from astounding revelations . One's very life , and reaction to their life is set on a different paradigm of perceiving that which you distinguish for yourself vs. what has been impressed upon you by teachers , text books, Professors , television. Finding out something you believe is incorrect , can actually be liberating sometimes. It's because you then have room to gain new information by intention to a clean slate ; vs. DATA that has been almost 'chanted' to your mind without you in the least intending to do so. Live on purpose . Trust many; love few, row your own canoe . The old paradigm of seeing the world through the intention of the institutions of education , 'experts' museums is starting to show it's cracks; even to the skeptics .

Very interesting to learn about. I've been a space fan for just about my whole life, and I know a TON of information about astronomy, and I'm still learning more almost every day!
