Adam and his brother, Jonny, view Friday night dinner as a necessary annoyance. They view it as necessary because they get fed, and annoying because they have to spend the evening with Mom and Dad. It's not that Mom and Dad aren't wonderful but, Dad drinks ketchup straight from the bottle, Mom is obsessed with Masterchef and even Grandma likes to wear her new bikini around the house. Of course every family has its idiosyncrasies but the Goodman's have made something of an art form of theirs. Wonderfully played by an ensemble cast, Friday Night Dinner is a truly original series about growing up but not growing away.
Adam and Johnny find Martin acting even stranger than usual when they arrive for dinner. Adam's song is on the radio, but Martin's odd behavior distracts everyone. Finally, Jackie confronts Martin while the boys' prank texts go a bit overboard.
