I've watched the show since it's beginning and I've gotta say the new season is so full of Bill shot it's not funny. It is a total replay of episodes from seasons 1&2, only with different actor. Yes I said actor... Joe is a bad reminder why we don't watch Steven Segal movies anymore. I do like Matt as he seems to be genuine and very down to earth in wanting to share what he knows as well as learn new approaches to survival from his partner. Joe does not appear to want to learn anything from Matt.

First two seasons were great. Season three was alright, but I quickly took a dislike to Joe's constant risk taking and "mission" minded philosophy. It was pretty clear that Cody would not be around much longer. Season four took on an even more scripted feel, with the Duo being put into more and more hellish survival situations, and with the departure of Cody and arrival of Matt the show just got outrageous. Again Joe has to play the alpha male and keep up with the risk taking for the sake of ratings, and a lot of times he completely fails to appreciate Matt's perspective. Didnt even bother with season 5.

Dave Canterbury was a huge asset to the first two seasons. I was sorry to hear that Discovery Channel did not renew his contract for another season. I've only seen a few episodes from Season 3, and while I'm glad to see Joseph Teti is upholding the stark military contrast in how to view survival situations. I feel as though the show has lost some of it's credibility, not because of reasons behind why they decided to get rid of Dave Canterbury, but because in doing so they made it seem like the first two seasons were basically a farce by not even acknowledging that Dave is no longer in the third season, and the fans wouldn't seem to notice. Overall this is a very educational show, I just don't respect the Discovery Channel for it's inconsiderate treatment of one of this shows veteran mentors, whatever the reason. I just hope they don't do the same thing to Cody Lundin, or Joseph Teti at this point.
