Junior Policy Advisor, Ollie Reeder finds himself the butt of all jokes after a one-night stand with his Opposition Shadow researcher while Hugh Abbot's ministerial visit to a factory goes horrendously wrong. Only Malcolm can help, but will he?
2 Episode 2
Malcolm makes things difficult when an outside adviser arrives to inspect all the departments, and enlists his colleagues' help in getting rid of him. Meanwhile, Hugh is upset to discover that everybody is aware the Prime Minister's wife does not like him - a blow to his plans for a policy announcement that will impress her husband.
3 Episode 3
In the midst of a chaotic office move, Hugh accidentally sends an expletive-littered email to an eight-year-old girl leading to a front page story in the national papers. His day quickly goes from bad to worse when he also 'accidentally' lies in front of the Education Select Committee, leaving Malcom to clean up the fallout.

About this show

The Secretary of State for Social Affairs is having a meeting with Number Ten's Chief Political Advisor. There have been press rumours that the Minister is to be sacked. The Minister is told that none of these stories have come from Number Ten. However, now they're out there, Number Ten would look weak not to sack him. So he's sacked. His replacement as Minister for Social Affairs takes office. And so starts The Thick of It, featuring an ensemble of the best British comic actors, improvising scripts from the sharpest British comedy writers.

... It would be this show. I came for Peter Capaldi, and stayed for everyone else. Great stuff, not for the faint of heart.

Can only catch about every 5th word. Very rapid speech in thick English accent.
