The season with MaryAnn n season 5 both focused too much on specific NON Bon Temps area people; outsiders. I like the outsiders, like Russell...but Russell was part of vampire past esp Eric's, he also ushers in the wear wolf pack... So he was a key outsider..who played his part perfectly! Then Bill looses his mind n becomes a bible thumper..I'm glad season 6 came out like a lion n went out like a lion! A lot had to be squeezed into season 6 to make up for such a low season 5!! 6 rocks! Canceling HBO after 7

Really mixed feelings. Watched because I got the first and second season for like 10-15 dollars. Continued watching because all the seasons, before this last one, was on HBO Go and so I binge-watched. Not an Anna Paquin fan and i thought there were too many instances of overacting and/or plain ole bad acting. I did cry at the end of the series though so...

If you liked Game of Thrones for the "in your face, no holding back" shock factors, like violence, gore and sex, then you will love this. Vampires, witches, werewolves, shapeshifters, faeries and demi-gods, all in modern backwater Lousiana. It all comes from "what if synthetic blood were made available and removed the need for real vampires to stay hidden." An interesting take on how "humans vs vampires" as part of society would be, compaired to "racist black and white humans now". I enjoyed it, but not "high fantasy" so much as romance.
