The Americans is a period drama about the complex marriage of two KGB spies posing as Americans in suburban Washington D.C. shortly after Ronald Reagan is elected President. The arranged marriage of Philip and Elizabeth Jennings grows more passionate and genuine by the day, but is constantly tested by the escalation of the Cold War. Tensions heighten upon the arrival of a new neighbor, Stan Beeman, an FBI agent.

2 The Clock

When Philip and Elizabeth are given an urgent task to plant a bug in Defense Secretary Caspar Weinbergerês office, they risk exposure when an unwilling maid of the Weinberger home refuses to cooperate. Stan closes in on a member of the Soviet Rezidentura in an effort to uncover the identities of deep cover Directorate S operatives.

I got hooked on this show by Amazon prime. Of course, they don't have the current season for free. But I had a Google Play gift card.... money well spent. I love Philip and Elizabeth and totally root for their messed up life to somehow work out. I love Oleg and hopes what he did for Nina doesn't ruin his career. And Stan, I mean, great acting and I feel like I should root for him because he's the FBI agent and neighbor to Soviet spies, but he's an incredibly flawed "hero".

This is some amazing tv. Wow. There arent words to describe the talent that goed into this show. Very smart dialogue, the tension of the drama , episode after episode draws you in. I've liked Keri Russell, and thought she was cute in the 90s, didn't really consider her a A list actress....until now. I never knew how amazing she is to watch on scene. We are getting close to the end of the season, im expecting the director and producers to go ALL OUT on the finale. I also expect this show to wind awards!

first 4 seasons were great. the last 2 still have same great acting but the main protagonists have resolved their relationship issues and have committed to love each other. now their fatique with the job is palpable as demonstrated by elizabeths fading devotion to her mission.esp after ruining a targets marriage. now i just want some peace for them but i doubt they will be granted a happy end...and their daughter or beeman will probably be the architects of their destruction.
