About this show

A dark comedy, loosely inspired by Tig Notaro’s life, ONE MISSISSIPPI follows Tig as she deals with the complex reentry into her childhood hometown of Bay Saint Lucille, Mississippi, to deal with the unexpected death of her mother, the interminable life of the party, Caroline. Reeling from her own recently declining health, Tig struggles to find her footing with the loss of the one person who actually understood her, with help from her older but not always wiser brother, Remy, and her emotionally distant stepfather, Bill. A surprise visit from Tig’s girlfriend, Brooke, only compounds the reality of how out of place Tig is in a world without her mother.

First of all - I love the creativity! One Mississippi is really wonderful. A window into the sadness and the comedy one may find in life. One Mississippi speaks to me... maybe it ISN'T for everyone, but I believe it should be. Thanks Tig - I thoroughly enjoyed it. What is so unique is the ripping off of the masks - ripping away the pink sweatshirts we all wear... exposing truths....awkward truths in life that are so real to us all HAHA!! Bill and Remi are so damn funny - which is weird because they are supposed to be more "normal" - but the point of the show is that they in fact aren't more "normal"...we are all SO NOT NORMAL - or normal is exact to us all relative to our feelings, our pain, our shame, and so much more... I love the opening, the vacancy back home - instead of out west...but Tig, you are wrong about dropping the show with Anya...while she is so annoying /fake - its precisely that contrast from her to you, with your raw honesty - your reactions to what she says makes the bit so great and exposes what is beautiful in your identity, but I also understand the simplicity/beauty in your independent show as well Bravo - 5 stars

Awful. The acting is not good. I like the main character a lot, but the acting is flat as a pancake. It's a great premise, but poorly executed with lousy casting.
