Rescue Hi-Surf

Following the personal and professional lives of the heavy-water lifeguards who patrol and protect the North Shore of O’ahu, Captain Harlan “Sonny” Jennings (Robbie Magasiva) and his core team of lifeguards —lieutenant Em Wright (Arielle Kebbel), and veteran lifeguards Will Ready (Adam Demos) and Laka Hanohano (Kekoa Kekumano) monitor the most famous and dangerous stretch of coastline in the world. In the series premiere episode two rookie lifeguards, Hina Alexander (Zoe Cipres) and Kainalu Emerson (Alex Aiono) try out for a position on the team, as Sonny and his family are still grieving the loss of his nephew Zion and a romantic past is revealed between Em and a now engaged Will.

When a flash flood sweeps a young tourist away from her family and out to deep sea, Sonny, Em, and Will race into action to save her. Going against Sonny’s wishes, Em takes a bold risk, placing her own life in danger. Laka supervises rookies Kainalu and Hina’s first day on the job.

Two college kids get trapped in a collapsed sandpit; Sonny, Will, and Laka race to rescue people stranded; and Will learns if he made the cut for the firefighter job.

The lifeguards of the North Shore experience the most dangerous ocean conditions the district has seen in years. Sonny assigns Laka as acting lieutenant as Em has the day off and joins Jenn to catch some massive waves. Meanwhile, Kainalu's father pressures him to leave his shift and help him with his campaign over patrolling the beaches. Hina thinks she is ready to back-up the rescue skis, and Laka and Will almost make it through the day when a fight breaks out among locals. Emotions reach a boiling point for Sonny when he experiences another loss.

The swell has settled down, and the North Shore community comes together for Rocky’s paddle out. Hina thinks about switching districts and Em tries to console her after the recent tragedy. Meanwhile, Laka, Will and Kainalu try to save a beachgoer that accidentally spears his own foot while fishing. Romance heats up between Sean and Em, and Sonny takes a personal day to go on a motorcross ride to clear his head but ends up losing control.

Will, Laka and Em receive a call to rescue an influencer in a wedding dress that gets swept into the ocean while trying to film a new video. Kainalu and Hina discuss setting boundaries within their home, and Mayor Emerson makes good on his word with Captain Sonny. Meanwhile, Will breaks it to Em that his fiancé does not want her invited to their wedding, and Jenn finally agrees to go on a date with Laka.

Sonny, Em, Will and Laka race to the beach to find missing paragliders that plummeted into the ocean by a violent down draft. Kainalu invites Hina to a party with his ex-girlfriend and pretentious high school friends. Jenn doesn’t think Laka is serious enough for her, and Em and Will face temptation of rekindling their past romance. Meanwhile, Sonny secretly puts in his notice to retire and recommends Em as his replacement.

Christmas cheer is in the air as the lifeguards prepare for their annual holiday toy drive. While surfing, a local grandpa has a heart attack and is rushed to the hospital, and Hina and Kainalu receive the responsibility of babysitting his grandkids. Sonny tells Laka he is not ready to become a lieutenant, and Laka does not take the news well and spirals at a bar. Chief wants Kenji to replace Sonny as Captain, but Sonny is stern on recommending Em and calls in a final favor with Mayor Emerson. Meanwhile, Will and Em almost get caught in the act by friends, and Hina and Kainalu became more than roommates.

The team races to the rescue in the aftermath of an ATV accident. Romantic tensions are high between Em and Will as well as Kainalu and Hina.

Em and Will’s relationship struggles as they navigate the return of his fiancé. Kainalu asks Laka for help. The team races to rescue a group of locals involved in a serious accident while riding an inflatable Supsquatch.

The team is on high alert when a tsunami advisory is sent out following an earthquake. As the state of Hawaii is under an evacuation order, Captain Sonny has bigger issues when Ocean skips school and he can’t find her.

Captain Sonny and the Ocean Safety team face their most dangerous rescue yet when a literal minefield is discovered on the ocean floor.

Captain Sonny, Laka, and Kainalu race to rescue unresponsive cliff jumpers. Hina tries to navigate family issues. Meanwhile, Will and Em hope to get over each other by rebounding with other people.

The team searches for two missing teenagers that ditched school and find themselves stranded in the middle of the ocean, after they realize they stole a cracked canoe. Meanwhile, Will does not get along with District 7’s new team member. Em receives a surprise visit from her estranged mother.

Em takes the day off to spend time with her mom but races into action when she comes across an unresponsive cave diver. Will confides in Vince about his personal anger issues. Meanwhile, Laka searches for a missing local.

Will and Em race to rescue a windsurfer that wipes out and suffers cardiac arrest. Meanwhile, Captain Sonny reunites with Ocean over a family lunch and Em realizes her mom is back to her old ways. Hina tries to hide her jealousy over Kainalu’s new relationship and drunkenly makes a move on Laka.

Laka and Will discover an unconscious man amid drug paraphernalia. Em meets a disabled veteran, while Hina reveals her feelings to Kainalu. Captain Sonny learns about Vince.

Hina and Kainalu assist the US Coast Guard in searching for two missing snorkelers left behind in the middle of the Ocean. Meanwhile, Captain Sonny takes matters into his own hands about Vince. Will and Julie meet for coffee and Em receives a job offer from a very rich person. Laka and the team attend Ocean’s graduation party.
