Great show, particularly if you are a Christian. I love the fact that they spend a majority of the time on the storyline and not other things. My top 3 characters, old Granny, Matthews mother, and Cora the American. I love the English dry humor mixed with the love, hate relationship for Americans. The friendly banter between the two older matriarchs is some really great writing! Top quote I carry in my pocket from the show "I'm an American, I don't share your English distane for comfort."

Early 1900's drama set in a centuries old family home and dynasty: Downtown Abbey. Its care is passed down each generation to the next-generations heir, whose role is more of caretaker of the family mansion and expansive land, rather than owner. The job is the protection and upkeep of the families dynasty until it is passed on to the next heir.
