Loved this show from the beginning but as an offshore fisherman in the N. Atlantic as well as AK only one thing bothers me but i don't see how it could be remedied while still keeping the show interesting. It's how there's just no way to get across just how long we spend not just on our feet in the elements and the amount of work that really goes on onboard crab, offshore lobstering, gillneting(not Bristol Bay style drift netting but 7-10 miles of bottom gear or fishing longline gear, especially Halibut in the PNW or Tilefish out of Montauk, NY(bottom gear-steal cable not mono). After 20+ hrs w/essentially no real breaks you've maybe got 4hrs to cook, eat, clean, sleep, and stand a wheel watch. I imagine many who venture north for hopes of big paydays since these shows became popular have had some rude awakenings! Probably got real crewmembers hurt as well. It's usually the experienced guys getting hurt or killed due to a beginners error or carelessness. Stay safe boys and save those paychecks! Also, they don't mention months of FREE WORK on boats and gear that all fishermen accept but almost never mention when saying "how much I made in a ONE month season. Shame the grueling offshore lobstering spinoff just isn't suited to TV and though should've been my favorite as I've worked on most boats and fishermen shown. The monotony of hauling, cleaning, rebaiting and hopefully setting back 2000 traps over several days just didn't translate well to TV.

Great show. These men put their lives on the line a few times a year so the rest of us can enjoy our holidays. Miss Phil Harris... May he R.I.P. I'm sure Josh will follow in dads steps. The 1 thing that upset me was when Sig put his brothers "problem" on air. That conversation should have been held in private. I didn't know that Edgar had a problem of "that nature" and Sig should have kept it that way. I lost a bit of respect for Sig because of that. There are some things that should be kept in family. Also, I see he's letting his daughter just "jump" right in the Capts. chair. I've heard him say 100 times quote "You just don't come on THIS BOAT" and expect to run it. You have to work your way up,learn EVERYTHING first. I guess daddy's little girl just wants to be on TV....Not fair Sig...family or not...NOT FAIR!!!
