Heathers

The new twists in the Heathers reboot have made audiences pissed. The Heathers are now marginalized groups who rule with confidence; this doesn't sit well with audiences who feel these groups should never have any unlikeable characters, but as a gay person I loved seeing a gay person enjoy and even abuse social power. Can "oppressed" people be popular? I've found it increasingly fashionable these days depending on the school. Fans are especially mad because Veronica is now rich and pretty striking back against the alternative bullies, rather than the opposite, even though even in the original both sides are in the wrong. Bottom line: Heathers 2018 is smart, funny, and gorgeous with beautifully eerie set pieces that evoke the 80's on top of its sinister synth soundtrack. While it won't be for some (and will offend many), it's definitely worth giving a chance. It honors the film while forging its own identity. Unfortunately in today's climate, people will assume far too much using just the basic labels of identities in shows and people, which may prove "Heathers"'s point.

All they did is make the rejects popular ie the fat girl and the flamboyant gay guy. And made the kids that would be popular, be at their mercy. They ruined a cult classic and the acting was terrible. I watched the first 15 minutes. That's all I needed to see. Thank goodness it was free and I didn't waste my money.

As someone who grew up win the 70's &80"s and loved the original this is a good idea with a God attempt at redoing but not remaking and keeping it too much the same. So glad that they updated it to modern day life and added some twists and turns in to keep it real!
