About this show

The year is 872, and many of the separate kingdoms of what we now know as England have fallen to the invading Danes, leaving the great kingdom of Wessex standing alone and defiant under the command of King Alfred (David Dawson, Peaky Blinders). Against this turbulent backdrop lives our hero, Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon, American Horror Story). Born the son of a Saxon nobleman, he is captured by the Danes a nd raised as one of their own. Forced to choose between the country of his birth and the peopl e of his upbringing, his loyalties are ever tested. What is he? Saxon or Dane? On a quest to reclaim his birthright , Uhtred must tread a dangerous path between bot h sides if he is to play his part in the birth of a new nation and, ult imately, recapture his ancestral lands.

Missing season 2. The show is great. Edit: Finally able to purchase season 2 and 3. Can't buy season 4 yet though. I didn't like the guy playing Uhtred at first but he's grown on me. Excellent show.

DEPENDS, is this the censored and edited bbc america version or the original version shown in UK? ???? Huge difference, obviously. Google store really needs to update and make accurate it's descriptions for products, a lot of shows are mucked up. Don't emulate amazon's poorly designed incoherent digital store.

Here it is nearly autumn 2018 and still waiting to see another series of Last Kingdom. Loved the show, hoping it won't be much longer! Also hope the same cast will return, hated to see some of the characters killed off. Great settings and locations, great actors and stories! Jones-in for season 4 already!
