The show has it moments and the idea of basing a sitcom around a very nice young man confined to a wheelchair is truly awesome. How I wish this show were in fact watchable! Hard to believe that with top-notch actors and incredibly well-timed premise, the show is really awful. Did I mention that I want to like the show? But the actual plots are, well, stupid. Just watched the one where they take a road trip and the helper decides to go to school anyway. Whoa, really bad.

I have to admit that I was indeed speechless when I watched the pilot, but I get the idea. It is time that special needs children (and adults) are brought into the open instead of the "out of sight, out of mind" syndrome that too many people find themselves in.

I am 19 and I have Ataxic CP, I absolutely love this show and I think it is awesome. What I like about Micah Fowler (JJ) is that he lives in NJ and he graduated high school at 19. I live in NY and graduated high school at 19. Me and Micah were also born in the same year. We also both play sled hockey (different teams of course) I hope that I get to meet Micah Fowler (and the rest of the cast of speechless) because it would be really cool to meet all of them.
