Really wanted to like it. Carlton Cuse, Josh H from Lost... but .... it's just cheesy crap. Bad writing, stale performances, absolutely god-awful score (think sci fi channel, late nineties) and no sense of stakes or capacity to immerse in the world. It just looks like a bunch of disjointed production sets. You can almost see the craft services tables and portapotties and boom mics. It doesn't even satisfy on a level of "there's nothing else on and it IS only 2 dollars, might as well". Not even on THAT level. I barely got through the pilot, and I bought the second episode hoping it would up the anti but instead it's far worse. If you're into the television rebirth, and enjoy shows like Westworld, Game of Thrones, True Detective, The Night Of, -- TV with cinematic scope and vision -- this is NOT the show you're looking for, trust me. Even shows like Mr. Robot and Orphan Black, which fall short of "great television", absolutely blow this out of the water. Bah.

I fully immersed myself into this first season and got little payoff. The characters are kind of dumb, especially the wife who I found extremely annoying and non believable. Also you don't see anything about the aliens that have taken over earth which is the whole reason you keep watching. As I watched it I found myself getting bored, annoyed and expecting it to get better. It didn't. With so many great shows out there I wouldn't waste my time on this. I kind of wish I could get my seven hours back.

I remember I was bored on a Thursday Night when this came on. The ad's looked interesting enough, so I figured why not? Well, jumping in... I was not disappointed in the slightest about this show. For me, I don't watch a whole lot of Drama TV, or really much beyond Adult Swim, WWE Raw and WWE Smack Down Live, and Science Chanel. To date, this is the ONLY Show that's come out in the last three to five years I've legitimately followed on, and am still hyped as of this review for the soon coming Season Two. Season One might lack the aliens we hear a lot about, but I consider that to be build up for a big reveal, much akin to Independence Day (the 1996 original), or the 2007 game Half-Life 2.
