About this show

Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood is an animated series with live-action interstitials. Fred Rogers' original Neighborhood of Make Believe is recreated in vibrant color and texture; his signature puppet Daniel Striped Tiger is transformed into a curious and playful 4-year-old joined by his friends O the Owl, Prince Wednesday, Katerina Kittycat and Miss Elaina. The series curriculum is school-readiness and social-emotional learning, and each preschool themed episode offers a musical strategy for children and parents to use together.

My daughter is busy about the house all day, she won't sit for much except Daniel Tiger, I do not give five stars as arbitrarily as some might, to me excellent means near flawless, but if this show can get my "busy" 17 month old to sit and learn things that she recalls when we sing the songs throughout the day and be based on the wonderful land of make believe from a show I really enjoyed as a kid, then near flawless is very close to describing how effective this show is.

An excellent educational show that does a good job of modernizing and giving credit to the original Mr. Rogers. Each episode has a theme that addresses issues and situations that toddlers experience. The show is not your typical children's show but is more geared toward education and teaching children how to solve situations and issues they will run into growing up

This show makes excellent use of repetition and mnemonic devises to teach kids about life and dealing with both good and not-so-good occurrences we all have dealt with (fear of getting a shot, first day at school, etc.) My daughter loves this show and as an educator I can clearly see this show is driven by people who know how children learn (unlike too many kids shows).
