Most of the reviews are SoA fans. I didn't pick up that series until the 2nd to last season. I love it tho. This show well; I'm a die hard Mel Gibson fan so I was literally waiting for someone to say, "William, is that you!" Lol. So we have a English soldier turn religious executioner and fights for/with the Scots/Walsh Idk. Its to early to tell. Did it pull me in like GoT, no however its desent so far. Now I just want to go watch Braveheart! Well I'll have something to watch on dvr after work!!!

Have never seen SOA or GOT so can't compare them. However love the cast, thought the acting superb, even by the boy Luca. I am a Walking Dead fan, so the violence gore didn't bother me as it did reflect the accepted practices of the day. Being an avid reader, and especially Great Britons History and just history in general I enjoyed the first season and hope it gets a second.

Decent job with the sets, props, and computer graphics. I wasn't expecting big budget quality and production value and it's not there. However, a good TV effort with a pretty good script. The story has a multitude of avenues it can follow and I hope the writers can keep it interesting. I wasn't too enthused with the graphic violence but I understand how it fits with the time period and primitive society.
