Reaching a climactic end to their respective journeys, Anne, Queen Elizabeth and Margaret give rise to a new generation looking to scheme, manipulate, and seduce their way onto the English throne.
THE WHITE QUEEN is a riveting portrayal of one of the most dramatic and turbulent times in English history. A story of love and lust, seduction and deception, betrayal and murder, it is uniquely told through the perspective of three different, yet equally relentless women - Elizabeth Woodville, Margaret Beaufort and Anne Neville. In their quest for power, they will scheme, manipulate and seduce their way onto the English throne. The year is 1464, before the Tudor dynasty ruled the country, and war has been ravaging throughout England over who is the rightful King. It is a bitter dispute between two sides of the same family, The House of York and The House of Lancaster. The House of York's young and handsome Edward IV is crowned King of England with the help of the master manipulator, Lord Warwick "The Kingmaker." But when Edward falls in love with a beautiful Lancastrian commoner, Elizabeth Woodville, Warwick's plan to control the throne comes crashing down. A violent, high-stakes struggle ensues between Elizabeth, her most fierce adversary, Lancastrian Margaret Beaufort, and Anne Neville, the pawn in her father's power game - each woman vying for the crown.
The White Queen: Historically-based miniseries on the War of the Roses Excellent. Great script and acting of all the actors but especially among and between the ladies (Anne Neville, Queen Elizabeth). The houses of the Lancasters and the Yorks paved the way for the Tutors and given us almost Shakespearan images and speculation of those living during this time. Will we see more?
Kept with the books I have read the books, The White Queen, The Red Queen, and The King maker's Daughter, and I like how granted the focus was The White Queen, but the others were brought in to shed light as to what was going on around them. From what I can find it stays very close to actual history.
Great show Even though some of the history was wrong, I still enjoyed the show immensely. It was cast well. I think it moved a little fast, but I gave it 5 stars anyways just because I thought it was that good.
The White Queen I love this show . When I have nothing better to do I just sit back and relax to watch my favorite show!!! Sometimes I loose intrest because I have other things to do. But this show is so good I always gain it back.
