The show took time to become the Hellblazer series it wanted to be, but when it did it was dark, creepy, full of dramatic consequences, and just very entertaining. Matt Ryan's performance epitomizes John Constantine, and I can't imagine anyone playing the character better. Unfortunately, certain things held it back: failure to be dark and gritty in early episodes, shoehorned romantic and sexual tension, and unwillingness to explore the deep lore of Constantine and his part of the DC universe. Good though.

Taking one right from the comics Constantine makes a strong move not to be just some show like Gotham that plays off primarily on the drama neither does it be your typical horror tv show. In two episodes Constantine gives a good mesh of comedy, horror, and action we can all kind of enjoy and be excited each week for

Is this only available by paying for individual episodes? Where is the season pricing? I wish this wasn't associated with prime-time NBC. After watching the first episode, I won't be paying for more. I don't know the comic version, so I don't know the back-story of the series... nor do I care. I've only seen the movie version... which I liked. I guess this series will appeal to the comic nerds.
