ER was excellent until Sherry Springfield left. It was great until George Clooney (Doug Ross) left. It was still very good until Julianna M. (Carol Hathaway) left. Then it pretty much stunk with the addition of Dr. Kerry Weaver. Also the casting of in and out doctors and other cast members whose stays were so short, their characters were never developed. BTW, the entire series ran on a station called POP a few years back. If you have cable or satellite, go to the guide, search/autorecord.

I cannot believe NBC is so greedy you have to buy episodes. Most of the other networks shows are free if you subscribe to a cable company that has on demand. There are so many shows on NBC that I love but can't watch mostly because I forgot to record. If you have any suggestions or I'm not looking in the right place for episodes that are free I'll apologize for my rant. I really hope to apologize.

ER is a really good show all the way through from start to finish. That can be said about a very few shows. I even like the way they changed the cast (something not odd for shows over ten seasons not counting shows about a family etc). They added the new cast in slowly over a couple of seasons making the transition smoother, easier and more enjoyable; also a better slow phasing out of older cast. ER also had entertaining stories the whole way. There where hardly any dull episodes and not even the last season was dull. That would be something else that can't be often said about too many shows, especially with long term shows (over 5 seasons). Many shows start to get a bit dull with in the last few seasons.
