About this show

Tea Leoni stars as Elizabeth McCord, the shrewd, determined, newly appointed Secretary of State who drives international diplomacy, battles office politics and circumvents protocol as she negotiates global and domestic issues, both at the White House and at home. A college professor and a brilliant former CIA analyst who left for ethical reasons, Elizabeth returns to public life at the request of the President following the suspicious death of her predecessor. The President values her apolitical leanings, her deep knowledge of the Middle East, her flair for languages and her ability to not just think outside the box, but to not even acknowledge there is a box. McCord's team includes her Chief of Staff Nadine Tolliver, speechwriter Matt Mahoney, press coordinator Daisy Grant and her charming assistant Blake Moran. When McCord debates third world problems, finesses foreign dignitaries at work and does battle with the President's combative Chief of Staff Russell Jackson, it's just a warm-up for when she goes home to her supportive husband, Henry, and their bright children, where "politics" and "compromise" take on new meaning.

Art imitating life? If only the producers of this show would REALLY portray Hillary closer to the facts, then maybe this show would be considered scandalous/outrageous and perhaps might even be renewed for another year. This show is laughable, and doesn't even come close to Hillary's actual true life tales of deceit/manipulation/cold heartedness, etc. that began with her years as a heartless AR lawyer and only progressed into true evil as the years have gone by. I just wish I had the time back that I spent watching the horrible pilot episode. Remember: "What difference does it make?!" - H. Clinton during an important Benghazi hearing.

A true, completely factual, real-life propaganda documentary show that actually tries to portray Condoleezza Rice as a brilliant white ex-CIA analyst who becomes the Secretary of State because of her apolitical leanings. For God's sake,.she's even married with kids. We will not stand for it. Boo Hoo Hoo! Sniff! Blubber!

Spoilers! The story, there are two suspected assassinations in the first episode and the characters seemed very House of Cards but the overall tone was very West Wing. I'll give the show a few episodes to find its own style but the only thing that will keep me watching is Tèa Leoni performance.
