Over a decade ago, a meteor shower rained destruction on Smallville, Kansas. Since then, strange events have occurred, apparently because of the meteorites, which accompanied a spaceship carrying a toddler who grew into a teenager, Clark Kent (series star TOM WELLING), in the care of his adoptive parents, Jonathan (series star JOHN SCHNEIDER) and Martha (series star ANNETTE O'TOOLE) Kent. Jonathan, Martha and Clark carefully hide Clark's unearthly powers, even from his best friends, Chloe Sullivan (series star ALLISON MACK)--the intrepid investigative reporter for the Smallville High Torch--and the beautiful Lana Lang (series star KRISTIN KREUK), the object of Clark's affection. But straight-talking classmate Pete Ross (series star SAM JONES III) knows the amazing secret and has proven himself a worthy ally to Clark, who has also befriended mogul Lex Luthor (series star MICHAEL ROSENBAUM), son of the ruthless tycoon Lionel Luthor (series star JOHN GLOVER).

Although he is constantly inebriated, Perry believes he has witnessed Clark using his extraordinary speed, so he devises a dangerous scheme to expose Clark's superpowers. Meanwhile, Lex learns that Perry has powerful incriminating evidence of Lionel's past wrongdoings.

Convinced that the man was his Kryptonian father, Clark investigates and finds a Kryptonian medallion that allows him to see bits of the past--and the life that was planned for him long before he arrived on Earth. In flashbacks, series star KRISTIN KREUK plays a dual role as Lana's aunt, Louise McCallum, and series star TOM WELLING plays a dual role as Clark's Kryptonian father, Jor-El.

However, when Clark attempts to free Lana from the paranormal control, she tries to kill him. Meanwhile, Lex discovers that Chloe has been delving into Lionel's past and asks her to join forces with him against his dad. Singer/songwriter JOSH KELLEY performs.

But before Lex can report his knowledge to the authorities, someone tries to kill him at the mansion. After barely surviving, Lex flees and asks Clark for help. However, when Clark returns to the mansion to investigate, he finds nothing amiss. He begins to wonder if what Lex described really happened, especially after Lionel discloses that Lex has had a psychotic breakdown and must be institutionalized.

Lex languishes in the sterile confines of Belle Reve Sanitarium, where his father has placed him. Scheming to escape and prove his sanity, Lex gets involved with three inmates who are also vengeful former residents of Smallville: murderous Van McNulty (recurring guest star JESSE METCALFE); Eric Summers (recurring guest star SHAWN ASHMORE), who once temporarily gained Clark's powers; and Ian Randall (recurring guest star JONATHAN TAYLOR THOMAS), who can physically split himself into two people. Meanwhile, Clark tries desperately to help Lex, who now knows Clark's secret identity. And Lana begins the painful recovery process after being trampled by a horse. She finds a kindred spirit in a determined fellow patient, Adam (recurring guest star IAN SOMERHALDER).

While attempting to stop a robbery, Clark shoots a burst of heat vision that is accidentally reflected back into his eyes by a piece of Kryptonite, causing temporary blindness. He soon discovers that his body has developed extremely sensitive hearing to compensate for his vision loss. But as with all of his other gifts, Clark doesn't quite know how to control the new power at first.

Meanwhile, Lana rents the apartment above The Talon to Adam (recurring guest star IAN SOMERHALDER), even though she feels he is hiding something dangerous about his past.

In a desperate attempt to keep his brother alive, Garrett straps a meteor-rock bomb to himself and demands that Vince be given Jonathan's liver.

Clark receives a panicked call from Lana and hears a gunshot before the line goes dead--but when he finds her, he is stunned to discover she is alive and well. After investigating with Chloe and Pete, Clark realizes that the events he heard have not happened yet, and Adam (recurring guest star IAN SOMERHALDER) is the person who will shoot Lana the following day. When Lex takes Clark to the LuthorCorp laboratory where Adam was being held, they find all of the staff murdered, and Lex suspects his father is responsible.

Clark goes down to the caves to confront his biological father, but Lionel finds Clark there and begins putting the pieces together--leading him straight to reclusive scientist Dr. Virgil Swann (recurring guest star CHRISTOPHER REEVE), who knows Clark's origins. As the two billionaires face off, a deal is struck, and Lionel's true motives are revealed.

When a Kawatche man, Jeremiah Holdsclaw (recurring guest star NATHANIEL ARCAND - "The Lone Ranger"), steals a mythical knife from the caves, he is bestowed with superpowers similar to Clark's and comes to believe he is the savior Naman, "the man who fell from the stars." Clark learns the Kawatche legend that the knife can kill Naman's greatest enemy and sets out to reclaim the weapon before Jeremiah can use it on Lionel to fulfill the ancient prophecy. Series star JOHN SCHNEIDER directed the episode.

Some lame stories in the many years this show ran and alot of relied on krytonite and it's effects on humans/freaks and Clark himself. I grew bored of the stories many terrible. Cause it's a tv show it would never give you the wow effect due to its budget but there were several good episodes more so towards the later series.

The young but somewhat naive Clark Kent as a youngster, following his rise to the Man Of Steel. Would highly recommend this series, a it long but you will love the final season :0) xx

watched all 10 series some even on blue ray. shame it had to end but the ending was epic :) best opening theme ever. sooome body ssaaaaaave meeeee!
