A very good series depicting biblical stories and a glimpse at what daily life was like at that time. A great way for folks who might not yet have read parts of the Bible to possibly create a desire to read it and learn more about God's Word and human behavior. If you are just starting to read the Bible, a good place to start is the book of John, then Romans, then Revelation. The NIV or the American Standard versions are good choices for ease of reading and accuracy in translations from the original Scriptures written on papyrus paper by the scribes at that time. The Word of God was written by 40 different authors over a period of about 1500 years inspired by the Holy Spirit, all pointing to a coming Messiah in the Old Testament and Jesus as the Messiah in the New Testament, who voluntarily left His place in heaven to give His human life on the cross and rose again on the third day, defeating death so we all could be saved from our sins and our souls can spend eternity with Him in heaven if we invite Him into our hearts as our personal Savior. May God bless.

I'm watching the 4th episode of this 10 episode series and am enjoying it so far. I was disappointed to learn of many elements that were missing from this series that are in the bible. For example, Samson gave Delilah 2 false answers before telling her the truth. Abraham's name was Abram prior to being renamed Abraham, by God. The Noah's Ark scene felt rushed and missed all of the history prior. All of these were elements that I felt could have been included, but were left out. Yet, I'm still very impressed with how the major parts to the history have been kept intact. Kudos to the producers for taking such bold stances on attempting to keep the spirit of the Bible alive through this series. As with any representation/dramatization of the Bible, I encourage any viewer to go back to the text and be like a Berean. Find out for yourselves whether this series is historically accurate and determine how this story affects your life. You will ultimately have to decide, one day, whether these events are true. Where you choose to place your faith will come to fruition by God.

I'm not sure why the basis of the drama-documentary start with Noah. But, key stories of accounts from Genesis to the Four Gospels give altruistic accounts with great care. I was somewhat let down that the visions of Daniel, Ezekiel and John were not further illustrated. I guess The History Channel did not want to stir controversy with John's vision of Revelations and just go the ending they chose in it's place. I wish I could download these for offline viewing and burning to DVD!
