Great first 2 seasons of 10 episodes each, then collapsed and ended prematurely after 6 episodes for season 3. Plots are built around real life events which adds to the stories. Acting and scripts are first rate. Can't help wonder if this would have been hugely successful if it was a Netflix series rather than HBO with better funding and larger potential audience.

Last night I downloaded the first episode for free, not knowing what to expect. Tonight I've finished season 1, and bought season 2. I am hooked. Sorkin's shows compel because although they're ultimately fictional, there is nothing artificial about the passion with which he writes. What could so easily come across as trite, preachy or idealistic doesn't because you trust the message is coming from the right place. Highly, highly, recommended.

Like the West Wing it is well paced, informative and full of characters who develop. But, and it leaves you cringing, why must it be so, so schmaltzy? Every episode has a gut wrenching group applause, or a "God bless America". Couldn't they edit that stuff out for those of us who don't need to eat through a straw?
