About this show

From Emmy Award-winning writer/producers Dan Goor and Michael Schur (Parks and Recreation), and starring Emmy Award winners Andy Samberg (Saturday Night Live) and Andre Braugher (Men of a Certain Age, Homicide: Life on the Street), Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a new single-camera ensemble comedy about what happens when a talented, but carefree, detective gets a new captain with a lot to prove. Detective Jake Peralta (Samberg) is a good enough cop that he's never had to work that hard or follow the rules too closely. Perhaps because he has the best arrest record among his colleagues, he's been enabled - if not indulged - throughout his entire career. That is, until the precinct gets a new commanding officer, Captain Ray Holt (Braugher), who reminds this hotshot cop to respect the badge.

This is quite literally the best TV show to ever exist. The humour is spectacular and even after re-watching the show countless times and owning every single episode, I still laugh at all the jokes, every single time. The ability to convey a compelling story and magnificent jokes at the same time join into making this show a true masterpiece. My only complaint is that I can't give it more than 5 stars because 'Loved it' is an understatement. I adore this show. If I'm ever down or upset, I can watch this show and forget about my problems. The acting is brilliant by all of the main characters. If you're on the edge on whether to watch this or not, do it, I promise you it's worth it.

If you buy it when it's still on TV, the lag between it being able to watch is quite long. Episode 16 has just been on British TV but can only watch up to 13 even though I've paid for the whole season. Bit disappointing. True for all programmes through Google Play.

Whilst the humour is a lot more slow-paced than the also excellent Angie Tribeca the introduction of a running story in the latter half of season 3 as the primary focus makes it look as though the show is trying to become more serious and whilst it's nice to see it explore a new direction I don't feel as though it's working. After several months Google has finally added the last 5 episodes of Season 3.
