Season 1 episodes (13)

1 Pilot
1/31/13
Dr. Jason Cole is a highly respected neurosurgeon who has it all - a lucrative career, confident charm, and the gift of compassion. But he also has a deep, dark secret. One morning, when he wakes up disoriented in a wrecked hotel room amidst several near-naked women he's never seen before, he knows one thing: it's happening again. Every night at the same hour, something inside Jason changes, leaving him almost unrecognizable - seductive, devious, borderline sociopathic. This new man is his dangerous alternate personality who goes by the name of "Ian Price."
2 Don't Answer the Phone
2/7/13
Jason (Steven Pasquale), furious over Ian's (also Steven Pasquale) out of control spending, cuts off his cash flow... only to wake up at the wheel of a "borrowed" sports car with a trunk full of money and an angry drug dealer in his rearview mirror. Meanwhile, Jason and Lena (Alana de la Garza) have a falling out over Jason's questionable conduct, which prompts Ian to make a dangerous after-hours visit to Lena. Dr. Kenneth Jordan (Michael Esper) is also growing suspicious of Jason's odd behavior, and demands answers from Jason's confidante, Dr. Ruben Marcado (Lin-Manuel Miranda). And Olivia (Ruta Gedmintas) fears her son's new imaginary friend is not so imaginary after all.
3 Morning, Sunshine
6/29/13
After five years of being imprisoned by a blackout drug, Ian Price (Steven Pasquale) is finally free. But that freedom comes with a strict set of rules imposed by Dr. Jason Cole (also Steven Pasquale). When Ian breaks the ultimate rule - "do no harm" - Jason scrambles to save the life of a man Ian attacked in a bar brawl. Meanwhile, Jason also attempts to repair his rocky relationship with Dr. Lena Solis (Alana De La Garza), and Ian's stalking sets Jason's former fiancée - and love of Ian's life - Olivia (Ruta Gedmintas) on edge.
4 Me Likey
7/6/13
Jason (Steven Pasquale) agrees to grant Ian (also Steven Pasquale) his wish -- a rendezvous with the object of his desire, Olivia (Ruta Gedmintas). But it comes with a catch: Ian must pose as Jason at a black-tie event honoring Dr. Vanessa Young (Phylicia Rashad). Ian's antics threaten to ruin the night, pushing Lena (Alana De La Garza) into the arms of another man, and putting Young's daughter Abby (guest star Jurnee Smollett) in mortal danger. But Jason stays true to his word, and Olivia later greets Ian in a hotel room... with a dangerous ulterior motive.
5 A Stand-In
7/13/13
Ian (Steven Pasquale) falls for a woman in D.I.D. therapy, but when Jason (also Steven Pasquale) suspects she has a life-threatening condition, he races to cure her - a cure that may mean she no longer loves Ian. When Dr. Jordan (Michael Esper) alerts Dr. Young (Phylicia Rashad) that someone tampered with her daughter's chart, all signs point to Jason. Lena (Alana De La Garza) is ready to move on from Jason with a new boyfriend, but is Jason willing to let her go?
6 I Can't Keep Your Secret
7/27/13
Jason (Steven Pasquale) receives a text message threatening to reveal his secret - but who sent it? Jason's search for the sender reveals there's a thin line between ally and enemy. Olivia (Ruta Gedmintas), on the run from Ian (also Steven Pasquale), takes Cole to a place overrun with memories of an earlier life with his father. Closer to home, Jordan's investigation into Jason's past turns up a promising lead.
7 Six Feet Deep
8/3/13
Ruben (Lin-Manuel Miranda) arranges for a gang to "mug" Ian (Steven Pasquale) so that he can get a sample of his spinal fluid - a necessary element for his pending kill drug, but the plan backfires when Jason (also Steven Pasquale) is blackmailed by the gang into potentially killing a patient who is a member of an opposing gang.
8 The Cookie Jar
8/10/13
When a surgery's complications force it to continue after 8:25pm, Jason (Steven Pasquale) chances taking Ruben's (Lin-Manuel Miranda) still-unfinished kill drug to hold Ian (also Steven Pasquale) off long enough to finish the surgery. The surgery is a success, but the drug doesn't last as long as planned and both Lena (Alana De La Garza) and Olivia (Ruta Gedmintas) suffer as a result.
9 Circadian Rhythms
8/17/13
Jason's (Steven Pasquale) early ingesting of the unfinished kill drug continues to have adverse effects, as Ian (also Steven Pasquale) starts unexpectedly taking over his body during the day - and vice versa. This is especially unwelcome when Jason is trapped into doing a very risky surgery on Jordan's (Michael Esper) son.
10 Mine
8/24/13
Jason (Steven Pasquale), now aware that he has a son, desperately wants a relationship with him, but Olivia (Ruta Gedmintas) feels it's too dangerous and painful. We learn the backstory of how Jason once saved Olivia from Ian (also Steven Pasquale) and from herself. Meanwhile, both Ruben (Lin-Manuel Miranda) and Lena (Alana De La Garza) start to question Jason's practices.
11 But I'm Allergic to Cats
8/31/13
In a desperate attempt to keep "his" son from Jason (Steven Pasquale), he kidnaps him and hides him from both Jason and Olivia (Ruta Gedmintas). Meanwhile, Ruben (Lin-Manuel Miranda) closes in on the kill drug but isn't sure if he should use it - and, if so, who of Jason or Ian (also Steven Pasquale) he should use it on.
12 You Made Me Do This
8/31/13
After Jason (Steven Pasquale) collapses in front of Dr. Young (Phylicia Rashad), an MRI reveals Jason has a brain tumor - Jason and Ruben's (Lin-Manuel Miranda) plan has worked, the "tumor" surgery will act as a cover for Ruben's implant to destroy Ian (also Steven Pasquale) once and for all but Lena (Alana De La Garza) may soon discover the truth and put a stop to their plans. Meanwhile, Ian has no intention of going down without a fight and will stop at nothing to save himself.
13 This Is How It Ends
9/7/13
Jason's (Steven Pasquale) brain surgery is about to begin, a neurotransmitter implant that will "cut out" Ian (also Steven Pasquale) for good, however due to the blackout drug he has taken for years, Jason is immune to the normal anesthetic. A much stronger drug is given to Jason and in the midst of his twilight sleep he flashes back to his childhood and the origin of Ian Price is finally revealed. Meanwhile, Jordan (Michael Esper) and Lena (Alana De La Garza) are on separate tracks to uncover Jason's secrets all of which could prevent the surgery's completion.

I watched the early free pilot on my TiVo and decided not to record it when it aired. The premise is just too far from how MPD expresses. They made a big mistake going for psycho-drama/medical show. If they went whole hog SF/Fantasy, it would have been EASIER to suspend disbelief. The actors, production values, etc. where at least average or above (hard to tell based on just the pilot). It looks like I wasn't the only one turned off by the pilot judging by the abysmal ratings. You can't blame the marketing. They advertised the heck out of it. It just had the stench of "early cancellation" all over it and I've been burned before. I wasn't going to get hooked on this, just to have the rug pulled out from under me. I'd be curious about how many episodes where produced. Probably just six. If so, there won't be a DVD release. The "whole season" will fit on one disc right now. Maybe Hulu will stream it.

Honestly while I didn't think the show is unbearable to watch it is definitely not something I will watch more of, and not to sound like a jerk but I'm glad it got canceled because already a better show is replacing it on NBC. But this show has enormous plot holes that are played too straight faced to be able to enjoy the show. It's way too dramatic for its own good in all the wrong ways.

Since House had it's finale, I've been looking for a new medical type show and this is it. It's crazy and unpredictable and anything can happen! If you are complaining about not being able to watch it, you probably are trying to watch it in the wrong place. Open up Google Play Movies & TV, and watch it there. Like it prompts you to..
