This is (for me) the greatest TV show ever made... ER is a hairs breadth behind. I'm British and knew nothing about American politics; fortunately deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman likes to explain these things to his assistant Donna. The script is amazing, the production is flawless and the acting so sublime you'll forget they're actors. It's serious, it's funny; it's inspiring and thought provoking. From the first to the last episode!

The show gets 5 stars but what Google supplies gets 1/2 stars. This is a criticism of Google. I paid a huge amount of money for the full series, not at a box rate price but they have stripped things out. There are two episodes where there is a piece to camera by one (or more) of the actors out of character which aren't included. Season 3 ep1 was transmitted less than a month after 9/11 and was recorded after 9/11 as a response. There is a piece which explains that this episode is out of the time line but it is not included. Martin Sheen introduces an episode from Season 7 explaining that John Spencer had died and paying tribute. Also not included. Season 7 'The Debate' was genuinely a live debate and happened twice with an East Coast and West Coast version. Google only gives you one. For over £130 I expect everything. Moreover they don't inform you before you buy that parts are missing.

I own all 7 box sets and like many people have watched them all several times. I never get bored of it and look forward to watching it all the way through again many times in the future. Brilliant characters brought to life by great actors who have been perfectly cast.
