Brewster is due to carry the new Mayoress of Chuggington, Mayor Pullman, across the newly re-opened Border Bridge. But when the bridge appears to be unstable it looks as though the welcoming ceremony will have to be cancelled.
The defect detector seems to be malfunctioning, so while Eddie takes it off to be repaired, Emery volunteers to take its place. But, worried that he might miss something, Emery sends nearly everyone to the repair shed, creating chaos in the depot.
Eddie is having a very busy day and Hodge really wants to help - but all the jobs need hands not wheels. When Wilson reports the track lift is malfunctioning, Hodge decides to try to fix it himself but only ends up making matters worse, and strands Wilson in mid-air!
Toot doesn't want to do track inspection with Hoot. To get out of it, she pretends she isn't feeling well. At first she enjoys getting lots of attention, but when Morgan thinks there might actually something very wrong with her, Toot realises she's gone too far.
Wilson is given the important job of taking some photos, to be used on a poster promoting Chuggington. Meanwhile, Dr. Ling has a special assignment for Hoot and Toot: pulling a robotic dinosaur around town to promote a new exhibition at the museum.
Koko decides to try for the High Speed badge -- something no trainee has ever won. Emery wishes he still earned badges like the trainees do. So for fun, he plays a 'pretend badge' game with Hoot and Toot, where they award each other imaginary badges.
Eddie and Hodge are going to clean the underground tunnels using the Scrub-A-Chug, but get called away on an emergency. Wilson decides to be helpful by finishing their chores but a mix-up means he makes even more of a mess.
Border Bridge is re-opening -- and Wilson has been given the special job of using the new 'rolling reporter' car to make a live report. But when he's asked to look after the twins, they scamper off with the camera!

Old Picky Nicky the inspector is on his way to Chuggington to conduct the depot's annual inspection, and the chuggers swing into action to get everything ready.

Wilson is asked to take refrigerated cars to the ice cream fair, but when his hero Frostini offers him a tour of the ice cream factory, he forgets all about the important job he's supposed to be doing.
