Picking up in the bloody aftermath of last season’s cliffhanger, Alex battles fate to save the life of a young woman caught in the crossfire. After Charlie catches a bullet in the arm, the doctor becomes the patient. Dana’s patience is tested by an obstinate male stripper named Doctor Destiny.
2 Midlife Crisis

Alex and Maggie discover that one of the car crash survivors they’re treating has breast cancer, and is a match for their cancer study. Meanwhile, Dana’s resolve to re-certify in Trauma is tested when Dawn pushes her to treat a mangled motorcyclist, and Charlie is pulled into surgery before his arm is completely healed.
3 Birthday Blues

It’s a not-so-Happy Birthday for Alex, who’s still reeling from her split with Charlie. To make matters worse, she makes a promise to a young girl, whose own birthday is derailed by her father’s sickle cell crisis. Charlie treats a paranormal skeptic, only to discover this supernatural naysayer has a haunting of his own. And Cassie confronts her inner fear of parasites with some exposure therapy, as she treats a brother/sister duo riddled with every infestation.
4 A Stranger Comes to Town

Tempers flare as Dev’s med school rival, Billy Scott arrives at Hope Zion, while Alex breaks the rules and puts her job in jeopardy to help Manny save the life of an at-risk youth, and Charlie and Maggie treat an 1812 War re-enactor, whose complications align with the historical character he’s playing.
5 Tested and Tried

Although Alex’s patient is desperate for a liver-transplant, the only donor is an estranged father that’s hiding in witness protection, forcing Alex to go to new depths to make sure both survive. Hope Zion’s CEO Thomas Leffering cuts costs by banning expensive surgeries, butting heads with a defiant Dawn. Sensing his E.R. might be next to go, Zach plans for a perfect day only to be faced with the 10 plagues of Egypt.
6 Doctor Robot

When Alex and Maggie cannot agree on the best way to help an ailing Bre, their hesitation causes complications, leading to Alex not telling the whole truth to Charlie who has just been made interim Chief of Surgery. Meanwhile, Charlie’s patient’s incessant puns signal a deeper problem, and Zach struggles to transition his E.R. to an Urgent Care, while struggling to convince his patient to wear pants.

Following the tragic complications with their cancer study patient Bree, Alex and Maggie are under investigation by a high focused lawyer looking to get to the truth of the matter. To make matters worse, Alex must tell her mother that she’s been diagnosed with a terminal disease.  Zach’s transition from ER to urgent care facility comes smashing to a halt when a car crashes into the ambulance bay, pinning a man against the wall.
8 Knowing Me, Knowing You

Charlie and Manny go toe-to-toe while treating two star-crossed lovers who are having an affair. Maggie and Dawn’s different approaches to medicine are put at odds while treating a dad with a ninja star injury and his worried young son, while Dawn also deals with her bid to get back the Chief of Surgery position, and Maggie evaluates the residents.
9 All Our Yesterdays

When a John Doe comes into the hospital after being struck by a subway train, it’s a race against the clock to save his life, but things take a moren dramatic turn when Charlie realizes that the man is no John Doe, but “The Great” Randall Crane. Maggie attempts to leave her past behind, but that proves impossible when Sydney Katz comes back to town, urging Maggie to put her pregnant sister in the now-defunct cancer study. Away from the hospital, Alex takes her mother to theirfamily farm in the wake of Martha’s diagnosis, only to find out that Martha wants to take her own life before her illness gets the chance.
10 Change of Heart

While planning her mother’s memorial service, Alex treats a young chronic kidney patient who has a “savior sibling” who is going to donate one of her kidneys, but when she presents with a cardiac virus, the sick sister becomes the savior. Meanwhile, Maggie and Sydney rediscover and rekindle their relationship while treating an interesting young couple.
11 Nightmares & Dreamscapes

Charlie is haunted by a mischievous ghost that can’t pop while he tries to save the life of a young man who was in abad car accident with his brothers, who did not survive. Sydney treats an older pregnant woman whose “miracle” baby is fine, but her brain is not, so Shahir has to perform a craniotomy on her. Two roommates are both admitted to the hospital separately and it comes to light that one roommate has a sleep disorder that caused him to attack the other.
12 Leap Of Faith

Maggie and Sydney with the help of Alex treat a doctor’s pregnant wife. Though when news of an OB staff position at Hope Zion opens up, Maggie reconsiders whether moving to London for love is the right decision. Charlie treats a magician who shattered his legs during an illusion gone wrong, and Shahir and Cassie take on a high maintenance concert pianist with early stage Parkinsons.
13 Problem Child

Alex struggles to find a medical cause for a teen’s sudden and dramatic onset of behavioural and anger management issues. Shahir and Dev treat a patient who had been beaten by police, and Dawn thinks outside the box to help a kind-hearted and philanthropic patient in need of a heart transplant.
14 We Need To Talk About Charlie Harris

Charlie struggles more than ever with his relationship to the spirit world after a spirit distracts him at the scene of an accident, resulting in the death of a child. Alex must convince a holistic “guru” to have hernia surgery, but the woman does not want anesthetic because of a traumatic experience in her past. In the end, they compromise with an awake surgery. Dana enlists the help of two young filmmakers, who’ve been admitted to the hospital, to make an adoption video for Shahir.
15 Fix You

While Charlie is reviewed by the hospital board due to his erratic behavior, Alex continues post-op care for self-help guru Layla, who performs cleansing rituals on Alex to open her blocks, resulting in eerie and bizarre consequences. Shahir does in-utero spina bifida surgery on a baby up for adoption, perhaps resulting in the answer to he and Jonathan’s adoption wishes.
16 La Famiglia

Alex, Dawn and Dana champion a revolutionary cancer surgery – the Sugarbaker – at Hope Zion and are surprised when Dr. Jeremy Bishop returns to head up the surgery. Cassie is eager to impress, but is sidetracked when a former patient – and her secret admirer – returns to see her, resulting in dire consequences for her and Dr. Billy Scott. Meanwhile, Shahir and Jonathan’s would-be adoption ends in disaster when the mother of the baby has second thoughts about giving the baby up and abducts the child form the NICU.
17 First and Last

Alex and Charlie are back on track and planning their wedding when disaster strikes at a chapel and Alex and Charlie have to put their wedding on hold to save the life of a bride. Zach tries extraordinary means to save a down-on-his-luck patient with liver disease who is ineligible for a transplant. Ultimately, it’s Jackson who steps up to the plate and offers to be his live donor. Shahir and Dana’s coma patient wakes up without any memory of the last 20 years of his life – including his wife. They must get this patient to remember who he is while at the same time grappling with their own issues.
18 Hope Never Dies

Alex, Charlie, and Luke get into a car accident after a heroic moment, throwing their whole family into peril. The doctors of Hope Zion struggle to save their lives, while also dealing with the chaos of a mass casualty incident. When they fail to save Charlie’s life, his organs go to many of the accident victims, saving several lives. The Hope Zion family bands around Alex while mourning Charlie, reinforcing she will never be alone, despite the loss of her partner.

About this show

When charismatic Chief of Surgery Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks) at Hope-Zion Hospital ends up in a coma, he leaves the hospital in chaos, and his fiancée and fellow surgeon, Alex Reid (Erica Durance), in a state of shock. Along with newly-arrived star surgeon, Joel Goran (Daniel Gillies), Alex races to save Charlie's life. As the action unfolds, comatose Dr. Harris wanders the halls of Hope-Zion in "spirit" form, not sure if he is a ghost or a figment of his own imagination. Alex, along with her fellow doctors, press on to save his life and those of their other patients, as they deal with the often complicated and courageous decisions that are made in their daily struggle to keep hope alive.

Only thing I liked about this show was Joel (Daniel Gillis) and Alex's scenes. The show had a problem with being confusing to follow. I hated the lighting effect, I'm sure it isnt as bad as I make it out to seem but I was only interested in Gillis' performance, anyways. And, really didnt want to take the time to i vest the other characters on the show.

I discovered this series a year or two ago and have watched all of the seasons up to current. I was disappointed to hear that the current season was going to be the last as it has all of the elements of a thoughtful, heart-warming drama that I love. The characters have some complexity, story plot keeps enough twists to keep one engaged while hanging on to the basic story lines from episode to episode to feel consistent. Acting, production, writing...all of the elements work.

This is a great show. After looking at the fall line up for NBC, I'm disgusted over the fact they pulled the plug on Saving Hope. I surely hope Google will bring us season 2. Saving Hope is refreshing after all the reality shows and humorless comedy.
