1 2014 World Series Game 1: Giants at Royals
10/22/14
The Royals were 8-0 this October, but Hunter Pence homered in a three-run first, the Giants chased James Shields after three-plus and Madison Bumgarner cruised from there, allowing just a Salvador Perez homer, which ended the lefty's road scoreless streak at 32 2/3 frames.
2 2014 World Series Game 2: Giants at Royals
10/23/14
The Royals broke out after a Game 1 loss, chasing Jake Peavy and hammering the Giants' 'pen in a five-run sixth. Billy Butler hit a go-ahead single, Salvador Perez plated two and Omar Infante homered. Royals relievers took it from there, tossing 3 2/3 shutout frames of one-hit ball.
3 2014 World Series Game 3: Royals at Giants
10/25/14
The Royals reclaimed home-field advantage with a close win in San Francisco. Jeremy Guthrie was solid for five-plus, and while Kelvin Herrera wasn't his typical dominant self, the vaunted K.C. bullpen held off a Giants rally after Michael Morse and Co. struck in the sixth.
4 2014 World Series Game 4: Royals at Giants
10/26/14
Staring at a potential 3-1 Series deficit, the Giants tied it in the fifth, then went up on Pablo Sandoval's two-out, two-run hit in the sixth before blowing it open. K.C. got all four of its runs in the third, chasing Ryan Vogelsong, but S.F. relievers put the clamps on with 6 1/3 scoreless.
5 2014 World Series Game 5: Royals at Giants
10/27/14
Madison Bumgarner went the distance for the second time this month, moving the Giants to within a win of the title with a four-hitter -- the first Series shutout since '03. Brandon Crawford had three RBIs, including one in an eighth that put the game away and left K.C. on the brink.
6 2014 World Series Game 6: Giants at Royals
10/29/14
The Royals wasted little time ensuring there would be a Game 7, scoring seven in the second and chasing Jake Peavy. While the S.F. 'pen had to pick up 6 2/3 frames, Yordano Ventura went seven scoreless for K.C., which reached a playoff high for runs on Mike Moustakas' shot.
7 2014 World Series Game 7: Giants at Royals
10/30/14
The Giants are World Series champs for the third time in five seasons, edging K.C. with 7 1/3 frames of shutout relief -- the last five by Series MVP Madison Bumgarner, who worked on two days' rest. Michael Morse plated a pair of runs, including the decisive one in the fourth.
