About this show

For 10 years on The Big Bang Theory, audiences have come to know the iconic, eccentric and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper. This single-camera, half-hour comedy gives us the chance to meet him in childhood, as he embarks on his innocent, awkward and hopeful journey toward the man he will become.

Nothing compared to The Big Bang Theory. The acting and writing is significantly poorer. Few of the jokes and situations are comedic and those that are end up being dwelled on for so long that they're no longer funny; it moves very slowly in terms of plot. It was interesting to see some of the context to some of the things Sheldon references in The Big Bang Theory, which I continue to watch over and over again, which is something I would not do with Young Sheldon. Not really interested in finishing the first season after watching the first three episodes.

Maybe I am missing something I don't know, but I just can't get into this show. In the Big Bang Sheldon is annoying but also very endearing. This show though he is just annoying. Wish they would have went a different way.

How is this a comedy? I found it to be bleak, and almost entirely depressing. This was never a good idea. Bereft of jokes and charm, this should be re-imagined as drama that focuses on alienation and loneliness
