Wolfblood

Jana is in the city on an important 'mission' for Imara, the new head of security at Segolia. It actually involves tracking down Imara's wayward son TJ who is late home from school. Jana catches up with TJ in new Kafe - run by Katrina. Katrina is in denial that Kay is moving out of the flat above the Kafe. On the way home Jana and TJ spot two Wolfbloods in wolf form being chased. The wolfbloods are caught and taken to the zoo. They are young brother and sister Matei and Emilia Covaci whose parents were killed in a mysterious house fire several months previously and are now living with foster parents. Both Covacis don't trust anyone but when TJ and Jana break them out of the zoo a new tenuous bond is created. The following morning, a news report about wild wolves running through the streets has got them all firmly in Imara's bad books. Jana ignores Imara's instruction to 'stay away from those kids' when she is persuaded by Matei and Emilia to use Ansion. Jana discovers that their parents' death might not have been an accident and agrees to help them find out what really happened.

With the full moon fast approaching Jana investigates the fire and TJ identifies their key suspect as Darren, a boy who was recently expelled from school. At the Kafe, Katrina's efforts to welcome her new flatmate - and make Kay jealous - backfire when the girl freaks out and moves out. Jana struggles to control her fledgling pack as they confront Darren who denies knowing anything about the fire. Knowing he's lying they tail him. Darren meets two of his friends and it's clear they were all at the fire. The full moon rises and our Wolfbloods, apart from TJ who can't yet transform, become wolves. With three large "dogs" at his side, TJ confronts the terrified gang and discovers they didn't set the fire; in fact Darren tried to help. He kept quiet because his 'friends' were burgling a neighbouring house. The next day an irate Imara is exiling Matei and Emilia to Romania for wolfing out in public again. Jana can't have the Covacis unjustly sanctioned and helps them escape, losing her job, home and surrogate mother Imara, in the process. She returns to the Kafe where Katrina asks her to be her new flatmate.

Imara wants the Covacis found. Jana, having them hidden in her secret den, has no intention of handing them over until wild wolfbloods Meinir and Aran break into the Kafe late at night. Now de-wolfed, Meinir, with possible pneumonia, needs medical help. Dr Whitewood can't help without Imara's say so. Imara gives Jana the impossible option: Segolia will help Meinir if Jana brings her Matei and Emilia. Jana realizes she has no choice but to hand the Covacis over, confessing her predicament to Aran. Matei and Emilia overhear Jana's betrayal. The pack is disintegrating. But Meinir would rather die than be used as a pawn in this way and TJ has realised that his mother is more interested in subduing Jana than the Covacis themselves. This motivates Jana to challenge Imara, alpha to alpha. In a bitter personal battle of wolf against wolf, peacemaker TJ gets inadvertently bitten by his mother. Shocked, Imara backs down agreeing to help Meinir and allowing Matei and Emelia to stay with their foster parents. Jana is officially a pack leader again and tentatively tries to build bridges with Imara, agreeing to assist Segolia in the future - but on her own terms.

Imara sends Jana on a mission to find a dangerous wolfblood - Carrie, a self-hating girl who has the "morwal" in her. But Meinir storms out of Segolia, believing the serum Whitewood has used to try and bring her wolf back has failed. Carrie attacks Jana, stealing her phone and calling TJ, refusing to say why unless Jana brings him to her. So Jana takes Carrie to the Den, sending Matei and Emiliato find Meinir. Carrie hates her wolf , believing TJ can take her to Kincaid to get rid of it. TJ admits he lied about knowing Kincaid, shattering Carrie's hopes for a 'cure'. When the Covacis turn up with Aran and Meinir, Carrie flees, wolfing out. Meinir's terror actives Whitewood's serum and her inner wolf returns, leading to a tearful farewell as she and Aran return to the wild. Jana goes to the Kafe with TJ but Carrie-wolf bursts through the window to attack her. Katrina saves the day with a fire extinguisher. Carrie-wolf flees the Kafe into the waiting tranquilliser darts of Segolia. Jana realises she can't solve every wolfblood's problem on her own but TJ loves her because she always tries.

Selina is unaware that she veins up whilst doing Taekwondo and is furious with TJ's intervention. TJ calls on Jana to help but Selina won't co-operate. With Selina still in denial TJ agrees to involve Selina's parents while Jana throws herself into being a good workmate to Katrina. TJ's attempt is thwarted by Selina and he's forced into a lie. When Selina loses control during a playground confrontation with her arch rival Hannah she is forced to face the truth and vows never to practice her martial art again. TJ tries to cheer her up and Selina admits that her parents had banned her from practicing Taekwondo after her first transformation because her father had once revealed his inner wolf while protecting her mother, forcing the family to relocate. They are distracted when they witness a mugging. With her hijab wrapped around her face to conceal her wolf, Selina overpowers the robber with her skills. Returning the stolen property to the owner, TJ is buzzing. Selina's like a real life super-hero and he's filmed it on his phone. The idea of being a masked female superhero takes root in Selina's mind. She has found a new purpose in life.

A vlogger raises Selina's profile by posting TJ's anonymous videos on his site. Imara suspects this masked "she-wolf" as she's called is a wolfblood, freaking TJ out. Meanwhile, the praise Jana is getting from Alistair starts to annoy Katrina, and Emilia feels suffocated by her brother Matei's protective nature. Determined to answer an on-line call for help, Selina won't listen to TJ's warnings about his mum. But it's a setup, Selina's identity unmasked by the vlogger. Wolfing out, she terrifies him into a vow of silence but is distraught and guilty over it. No moon day: TJ and Selina are depressed, Jana is lethargic which Katrina takes as belligerence and Matei finds Emilia crying at their parents' graveside. TJ has a go at Katrina for criticising Jana who tells TJ why she thinks Selina veins up: Guilt over lying to her parents for so long. Selina confesses everything to her parents, expecting punishment, but her father builds her a dojo in the cellar instead. Katrina and Jana make up and in the gym Selina and Hannah go head to head. Now a pack again, Jana and the others watch as Selina takes Hannah down - without veining up.

The pack formally acknowledge Jana as alpha by changing into wolves. Unable to transform, TJ mopes to the Kafe where he falls for a pretty human girl, Niamh. Imara sends Jana to stop Mr Jeffries selling 'Bloodwolf', a poorly camouflaged self-published novel revealing the lives of his former wolfblood students. He won't co-operate, suggesting that Segolia is trying to cut Jana off from her previous life. Meanwhile, Niamh receives mysterious texts declaring TJ a threat. Believing his pack is sabotaging his relationship because Niamh is human, TJ comes to blows with Matei. But graffiti saying 'YOU WRECK MY LIFE I WRECK YOURS - CARRIE' persuades TJ it's Carrie seeking revenge. Jana phones Imara asking if Carrie has escaped while TJ finds Niamh crying in a garage. He decides to tell her the truth about wolfbloods. To his shock Niamh locks him inside and reveals her real identity. She was Carrie's best friend and holds TJ responsible for sending her mad with his 'werewolf' lies. If he doesn't confess she will destroy his reputation with an on-line campaign. TJ shows 'Niamh' he wasn't lying by veining up and showing his teeth on the CCTV camera. Niamh flees in terror.

TJ escapes, catching up with Niamh who threatens to put the footage of him wolfing out onto social media if he doesn't bring Carrie to her. Terrified of his mum finding out, TJ agrees. Jana fails to find out where Carrie is being held but TJ discovers Niamh's real name is Holly and where she lives. As Kay and Katrina argue about which one of them the stupid girl in "Bloodwolf" is based on, Jeffries goes to see Holly, persuading her to meet Jana who promises to take Holly to see Carrie in return for her silence. Holly agrees and Jana uses Eolas to locate Carrie. As Jeffries can't drive, Dr Whitewood comes to take them all. Wearing masks, Jana, TJ and Holly infiltrate the building while Jeffries and Whitewood wait by the car. She tells him what an awful writer he is. Holly is reunited with Carrie who tells her she is happy now under Segolia's care. An alarm sounds and our gang flee. When they've gone Imara appears on Carrie's monitor with a cryptic 'You did well, Carrie. Very well.' Holly erases the video but any hope of a real romance with TJ is erased too.

On the cusp of his first transformation, TJ can't wait to run wild with Jana in Norway but learns that she's tasked with escorting Dr Whitewood to the wild pack to check on Meinir's progress. Emilia is equally disappointed when told she can't come and plots to use Katrina's suspicious mind and new driving licence to follow Jana. The pack are against it but Emilia believes Katrina will give up before they get there and a plot is hatched. Selina won't go but a sleepless TJ decides to join Emilia, Matei and Katrina. Before dawn, Whitewood and Jana set off unaware of the others tailing them. Jana arrives "home" to discover that Meinir left the pack because Whitewood's serum had failed and her father, Alric, is extremely ill, being treated by the pack's new healer Madoc. Katrina proves more intrepid than Emilia thought and soon they are surrounded by angry wild wolfbloods who had sensed interlopers. Jana comes between the two snarling packs and Katrina faints. Alric summons the last of his energy to order his pack to back down, telling Jana that he wants her to lead them with Aran when he dies.

Alric is getting worse. Madoc makes Jana believe he will cure him. The moon rises and TJ finally transforms, a shocked Katrina secretly filming everything on her phone. The next morning Madoc refuses to let Whitewood treat Alric and goes to get more healing plants. Meanwhile, Cadwr leaves Emilia in the woods to practice being at one with them. She sees Madoc who tells her what plants he has. Whitewood finds them, identifying one as poison: Hemlock. Madoc forces Whitewood and Emilia over a cliff. They cling on for their lives. Madoc returns to camp and, getting Jana to administer his "medicine", claims Alric wants him to be the new alpha. Distraught, Jana goes in search of Whitewood to get her to treat her father. Elsewhere, Matei looks for Emilia. They hear screams and rescue Emilia and Whitewood just in time. They return to find the pack pledging their allegiance to Madoc. Confronted by the evidence the pack turn on Madoc and he flees. Order is restored, Alric set to make a full recovery. Jana decides her place is with her new pack in town but Emilia refuses to leave. Heartbroken, Matei agrees to let her stay with the wilds.

Katrina and Jana's excuses for their absence has Kay suspicious. Checking Katrina's phone, she sees the video of the wolfbloods transforming, copying it to her own phone. A few days later: Kay and Kara come to rescue Katrina from the 'werewolves' but are thwarted by Jana who scares the two girls into deleting the video. The next day, the pack send Katrina to speak to Kay and Kara but Kara has already uploaded the video to the net for Katrina's own good. Selina misconstrues TJ's feelings for her and leaves. Imara calls Jana, Matei and TJ into Segolia where they see Katrina's video on the web. She tells TJ she'll meet him at the airport and the rest to run. Jana realises Imara is covering for their escape, having kept their trip to the wild to herself. At the Kafe, Jeffries is questioned by a reporter. Jana tries to cover by saying the video was a viral marketing for Jeffries' book but the lie unravels and they have to run. Matei, TJ and Imara are taken by Segolia, Selina returning too late to help. Jana arrives back to an empty Kafe to finds Victoria Sweeney saying she needs Jana's help.

With her pack, human and wolfblood, in Segolia custody, Jana rejects Victoria's request for help and flees with Selina. Victoria offers Imara amnesty for TJ if she brings her Jana. Oblivious, Jana and Selina rescue Imara, intent on freeing their pack. Matei and TJ learn they are to be de-wolfed, proving they are human, lending credibility to Segolia's story that the video is fake. Imara leads Jana and Selina into a trap. But TJ won't abandon his pack and Imara turns on Victoria instead. Jana offers her own wolf up to Victoria in return for the others' freedom. Jana reels from the serum Whitewood administers and Victoria goes to the press conference, expecting whitewood to bring Jana when she is fully human. The pack hide in the den believing all is lost, but Jana shows up with Whitewood who had given her the serum she gave Meinir, not the de-wolfing serum. The pack take wolf form, invading Segolia's press conference then transforming back into human form. News flashes around the world that wolfbloods exist. The secret out, Segolia is finished, but Victoria warns Jana that her actions have made her a target for both wolfbloods and humans.
