Sonim Scan

Sonim Scan utilizes the built-in back camera of the Sonim XP8 or XP10 to create a fully functional barcode scanning solution. Sonim Scan is free on the Sonim XP10 and comes at a low-cost on the Sonim XP8.

Sonim Scan can be used to scan barcodes into any third-party application in one of two ways.
1.) Keyboard wedge: Scan barcodes into any text in any application, just as you would type in the information manually
2.) Broadcast intent: Sonim can work with your third-party app developer to fully integrate Sonim Scan into that application for more control and a better overall user experience

Sonim Scan allows users and administrators a lot of flexibility in how barcodes can be scanned.
• Key Sonim Scan Settings
o Set tones and vibration on a successful scan
o Allow the flashlight to be on automatically on every scan to improve lighting for faster scan times
o Scan Screen can take up the whole display, half of the display or just be viewed in a small window
o Full support of Continuous Scanning
o Append delimiters or editor actions on scanned barcodes
o Multiple ways to initiate a scan (multiple hard buttons, floating widget)
o Admins can lock User Settings to ensure Users don’t make changes
o Prevent Uninstallation of the application
