HIJINKS, SHENANIGANS, & LAUGHS GALORE!!! Title: What to Expect When Your Demon Slayer is Expecting Series: Biker Witches Mystery Designation: Book 8 of Series, Full-Length, Can Be Read As Standalone, NO Cliffhanger I love, love, love What to Expect When Your Demon Slayer is Expecting! Actually, I adore the entire series & have been going through slayer withdrawal, while not so patiently waiting for Angie Fox to release a new book in this collection, and I must say, it was definitely worth the wait! The Accidental Demon Slayer is back & she's better than ever. No one rocks a black leather mini-skirt, bustier, & sexy boots like Lizzie Brown, or I should say Lizzie Brown Kallinikos now that she's happily married to her hot Greek griffin shifter Dimitri Kallinikos. Don't tell anyone I told you, but Lizzie's bustier days might be behind her, at least for a while, since she's expecting. Oops, spoiler but the title may have given it away. lol.. But all jokes aside, I became a fan of Fox's work five years ago after reading the first book of this series. Fox is a gifted storyteller and skilled wordslinger with the unique ability to balance laugh-out-loud humor, outrageous antics, & colorful, over-the-top characters with serious storylines and does it effortlessly. If you enjoy fun paranormal romps filled to the brim with danger, drama, action, adventure, suspense, hijinks, shenanigans, laughs galore, a large cast of endearing characters, & sweet romance, then this book is screaming your name. Did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Will I read this author again? Absolutely, just as soon as she releases her next book! Would I recommend it? You bet, & I am but only for adult readers. It does include a little profanity and the sex scenes, although not plentiful, are explicit but tastefully written. And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment & an awesome read! Preschool teacher Lizzie Brown knew she'd been adopted as an infant but had no other knowledge of her ancestry until all haydees broke loose on her thirtieth birthday when her biological grandmother suddenly shows up at her door for the first time, rocking leather chaps and a 'Kiss My Asphalt' t-shirt... and riding a pink Harley! Unfortunately, that's not the worst of what was yet to come for the prim & proper Lizzie, who'd been raised to be a genteel southern belle. According to her adoptive parents Clint & Hillary Brown, Lizzie & her hot griffin shifter hubby, Dimitri Kallinikos, are long overdue for a visit, her first since leaving Atlanta, & Lizzie isn't looking forward to it at all. She's stayed away to protect her family and friends from the evil she fights. It's her heritage, after all, to banish evil and keep the world safe, & she's very good at her job. But it's Dimitri's birthday and she suspects her mother is throwing him a surprise party, so she can't really say no. Sadly, she never anticipated her mom being possessed by an evil entity, & she certainly wasn't expecting to be - well, expecting. Looks like Lizzie has her work cut out for her - again. At least, she has Dimitri, her dog Pirate, her grandma Gertie, and the entire Red Skulls Coven of biker witches to help out. And let's not forget Pirate's pet dragon, Flappy, plus there may be a few other familiar faces joining the party too. This big, bad evil isn't playing around and Lizzie will need all her slayer skills to defeat this enemy. But what happens if Lizzie loses her powers? We'll see!

Another fun, wild read with unexpected twists and turns! The top of your reading list just hit the shelves with Angie Fox’s What to Expect When Your Demon Slayer is Expecting. Fresh off of a crazy adventure in the Big Easy, Lizzie and crew are headed for her hometown but little do they know, she’s bringing more than her hunky husband, talking dog, dragon-in-training, and my favorite, her grandmother and the biker witches with her. Fox’s relationship building game is strong as ever in this 8th installment of her Demon Slayer series as she tackles the tenuous relationship between Lizzie, her society maven mother, and financial wizard father. We get some of the backstory between these characters, and a glimpse of how life comes full circle. Trust and the boundaries that go with it are tested, and ultimately Lizzie discovers who she can trust, and who she can’t as she battles forces that are largely a mystery to her and her cohorts. As usual, spells are flying from the biker witches’ shenanigans, the detailed love scenes are very hot and steamy, and Lizzie’s wacky pets will keep you laughing. This is a great read that I devoured in an afternoon. My favorite thing about the book: the nostalgic nods to loved ones past and getting to know Lizzie’s mother, better. What would “improve” the book for me: there’s no such thing as too much Grandma Gertie and the biker witches, and while this has nice amount of detail in it, I could always do with more (i.e. what people were wearing/eating/hearing/smelling, what did the room/house/store/scenery look like, etc.). After all is said and done, will the beloved Demon Slayer and her fearless husband be around for a new chapter with the biker witch brigade and the cast of mostly merry misfits? You’ll have to read to find out, but I think you’ll enjoy every minute of it as much as I did. I loved the direction Fox went with this book, and if you’re already invested in the characters, you’ll love it, too. If you’re new to the series, you don’t necessarily have to start with book one to enjoy this one, but I highly recommend you read it at some point. Fan of romantic paranormal thrillers? Welcome to your new addiction. The good news is, there are seven other full length novels, and a couple of shorter novellas to keep you busy throughout the summer. Recommended for any reader who enjoys laugh out loud humor, super steamy love scenes, mile-a-minute action and well developed characters with the paranormal genre.
