If this ebook was formatted well it would be a 5/5 from me. This is one of my favorite pulp sci-fi series and I still like coming back to read it occasionally. There are a lot of different versions here in the play store, and this one is the only one that has all of the books included, even the 11th book that was actually a pair of novellas. Again, the contents of this collection are great. The presentation is not. This ebook does not have flowing text, so your only option is to read the original pages which are very low content. Each "page" only contains roughly two paragraphs, awkwardly broken up. It's very unpleasant to read - the book equivalent of a road full of speedbumps. I don't know if this is something the publishers can fix, or if they don't have any incentive to. If it ever changes, I'll update my review.

Adventures non-stop! Edgar Rice Burroughs had an imagination like no other, ever. After every book, I couldnt wait to start the next. I was happy to find this bargain, which includes every volume. John Carter of Mars is my favorite character and book series of all time. What a master story teller, and such command of an incredible vocabulary. There were a few words that got mixed up in the conversion to ebook, but easy to figure out, and maybe 7 or 8 out of over 10,000 pages is remarkable.

About the author

Edgar Rice Burroughs was born on September 1, 1875, in Chicago. His father, George Tyler was a distiller and a battery manufacturer. Early in life Burroughs attempted to support his family in a variety of occupations, including railroad policeman, business partner, and miner. None of these proved successful. However, Burroughs had always enjoyed reading adventure fiction and decided to try his hand at writing. His first attempt, written under the pseudonym Normal Bean, sold very quickly and Burroughs' career took off. Although critics and educators have not always been supportive of Burroughs' writing, the characters in his stories have entertained readers for many years. Tarzan was the most popular, earning Burroughs enough money to start his own publishing house and a motion picture company. Another character, John Carter, is the hero of Burroughs' Mars adventure series. The continuing popularity of these characters has led some critics to reconsider the value of Burroughs' writing and to acknowledge significant themes in his stories. Burroughs died on March 19, 1950.
