About this ebook

In a society steeped in tradition, Princess Lia's life follows a preordained course. As First Daughter, she is expected to have the revered gift of sight—but she doesn't—and she knows her parents are perpetrating a sham when they arrange her marriage to secure an alliance with a neighboring kingdom—to a prince she has never met.
On the morning of her wedding, Lia flees to a distant village. She settles into a new life, hopeful when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive—and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deception abounds, and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets—even as she finds herself falling in love.
The Kiss of Deception is the first book in Mary E. Pearson's Remnant Chronicles.

I really liked the beginning of this book and I loved when Lia worked as a barmaid. As I read more and more of the book, I started getting a bit bored and just tired of the two love interests. I'm not sure what happened. I guess I just fell out of the wagon the book had me in. Though, I can say, I really enjoyed Lia. I love her strength and her ability to be independent. In my opinion, Lia doesn't need NO man! Haha. Finally, I'm going to give this book three stars. I would say three and a half but that isn't option. Overall, I was a little disappointed, though, it still had it's moments!

This book is well written; however, i was frusterated when i reached the middle of the book and the chacters seemed to change places. The author should have been more clear throughout the book.

This had nothing truly spectacular… so why did I like it so much. It wrapped itself around me and wouldn't let go. So yes, I’m invested now.
