About this ebook

New York Times bestselling author Meghan March continues the utterly addictive Legend Trilogy in House of Scarlett.

Gabriel Legend is unlike any other man I’ve ever met.

He came into my life like a hurricane, shattering all my assumptions and preconceived notions.

I wasn’t prepared for him. I wasn’t prepared for any of it.

But life doesn’t wait until you’re ready.
Whatever happens next, I know one thing for certain.

I will never be the same Scarlett I was before I met him.

House of Scarlett is the second book in the Legend Trilogy and should be read after The Fall of Legend, book one in the utterly addictive Legend Trilogy.

I am in serious awe of Meghan March’s ability to weave a plot; there is so much going on within House of Scarlett the assumption that it would create confusion would be valid, however, Meghan maintains a tight control over all the layers while simultaneously developing the main characters and throwing the occasional curve ball into the mix. Seriously WOW!! With the bitter ending of The Fall of Legend, Scarlett and Gabe both have a lot of self-reflection to do. Luckily, they both have amazing friends in their lives who are able to pick them up and push them forward. An unexpected event pushes Scarlett and Gabe back together and this time Gabe is determined to prove his worth. Cue the swoon ❤ Unfortunately, there are still problems to deal with including the financial situation of Gabriel’s club, Scarlett’s troll/stalker, Scarlett’s uncaring father and vengeful ex-boyfriend, Bohdi Black’s thirst for revenge along with the demons from Gabriel’s’ past who are still searching for him. Few questions are answered in this respect but the momentum of the revelations is gaining pace. I adored the friendships in House of Scarlett and can’t help but wonder if any of the peripheral characters will wind up in the spotlight. In true Meghan March style, there is a MAJOR twist/cliffhanger at the end of House of Scarlett which I have a sneaky suspicion is just the tip of the ice-berg where The Fight for Forever is concerned.

We begin book 2 in the Legends trilogy with a heartbreaking memory from Gabriel. My heart ached for the little boy he was, but we are then right back where we left off in book 1 and I wanted to smack him over the head! But as the story carried on, my heart started to once again melt for this man who has this driving need to protect all those he cares about. His past had negatively impacted his self-worth and he purposely hurt Scarlett for “her own good,” but with the help of Scarlett’s amazing circle of her step-sister and friends, his world is turned upside down and that protective instinct switched right on. What I absolutely loved about this book was how Scarlett is shown how strong and capable she is but with Legend she realizes she doesn’t always have to be. His need to protect her and shield her touches something inside of her, something that has been missing in her life. The majority of this story is filled with how much Gabriel truly cares for Scarlett and how far he is willing to go to keep her happy and protected. There are a few decisions that Gabriel felt like he needed to make, so the anticipation of what will result will definitely be on my mind until the conclusion of this series. We are once again left on a doozy of a cliffhanger, but having read all of this author’s duets and trilogies, I know for a fact that it will be all worth it!

Meghan March has amped things up with House of Scarlett, the second book in her Legend trilogy. Gabriel Legend has, indeed, fallen, and there's no getting back up, but then Scarlett Priest is someone in a class all her own. After everything that happened, he knows he needs to prove to he not only regrets his actions but that they aren't a reflection of the man he wants to be for a woman like her. Their lives began to change from the moment their paths crossed, but while change may be good, it doesn't mean everyone will allow it to happen. This was a more quickly paced read compared to book one, and we delve deeper into the back stories of both Gabe and Scarlett, allowing readers to get to know these main characters even better. My heart broke for Gabe as I saw what he went through and endured, and it did allow me a better understanding of him. As for Scarlett, she continues to impress as a heroine, what with her confidence and composure at the forefront of who she is. We also see a different side to these two as they become more entangled with each other, with sweet interludes that had me cheering them on. And if book one's cliffhanger ending was a doozy, book two's is a heartstopper. 4.5 stars for House of Scarlett. ♥
