Sarah J. Maas's sexy, groundbreaking CRESCENT CITY series continues with the
second installment.

Bryce Quinlan and Hunt Athalar are trying to get back to normal-they may have saved Crescent City, but with so much upheaval in their lives lately, they mostly want a chance to relax. Slow down. Figure out what the future holds.

The Asteri have kept their word so far, leaving Bryce and Hunt alone. But with the rebels chipping away at the Asteri's power, the threat the rulers pose is growing. As Bryce, Hunt, and their friends get pulled into the rebels' plans, the choice becomes clear: stay silent while others are oppressed, or fight for what's right. And they've never been very good at staying silent.

In this sexy, action-packed sequel to the #1 bestseller House of Earth and Blood, Sarah J. Maas weaves a captivating story of a world about to explode-and the people who will do anything to save it.

I really enjoy SJM books. Even the first one in this series. While this one is worth the read to get to the end... that's the only part of the book I really thoroughly enjoyed. The end. Don't get me wrong, there were other decent parts throughout but this book felt like a mess. Too much suspension of disbelief is needed to enjoy every part of this book.

This book blew my mind. I never saw half of what happened coming, and the last sentence before the epilogue made every hair on my body stand up. I loved the adventure and the scheming and the twists she takes you down in this series. I already pre ordered the third, and it can't come fast enough. ***Blew. My. Mind.***

I wanted to love it. I am a huge fan of this author and really liked Bryce and Hunt individually and as a couple in book one. Sadly, I find it a little hard to buy a hardened general who has survived centuries of war and torture would meekly allow himself to be led around from one hare-brained scheme to the next for little to no purpose. I feel like the plot regarding Emile was pointless. The obsession with Danika is unhealthy, yet no one attempts to reason with Bryce when she has everyone risking their lives to uncover them. The plot was rather predictable and the ending was a little gratuitous. That being said, yes I will read the next book. Got to see it through, as they say.
