Hated the plot, hated the characters. Edward deserved so much better. As I kept reading, things just got worse and worse. Bella is infuriating, Jacob is unredeemable, Charlie is a disappointment of a father. Bella is an awful character and I no longer feel sorry for her. I did at first but she has no respect or regard for those around her that she burdens. She honestly deserves Jacob because they're both so horrible. I can forgive certain elements for the sake of fantasy and fiction but I really can't see how anyone can read this and not hate Bella as much as I did.

Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer may not be a novel that touches souls or teaches daily life lessons, but it is an outstanding book to read for amusement. Eclipse is the third book in Stephenie Meyer’s thrilling Twilight saga. The meaning of the title Eclipse is exactly what the story is about; Edward getting in the way of Jacob’s vision to have Bella. The definition of the word eclipse is to overshadow or surpass in importance. Just by knowing this it gives away what the whole story is about.
In the story Eclipse Bella finally decides who she wants to be with; Edward. Coming to this decision wasn’t just a walk in the park; there were tears and fights the whole way through. Jacob, her very good friend who is a werewolf, is a natural enemy of her boyfriend Edward; who happens to be a vampire. In the previous books in the saga; they really didn’t want anything to do with each other. However, in Eclipse they had to put that all behind them and work together to fight for the one they both loved; Bella.
I thought Eclipse was a very exciting book to add to the Twilight series. It was a thrilling, romantic, and engaging novel. This book is very easy read, and is listed at a 5th grade reading level. I would recommend it for mostly young teens and young adults. The book has a very romantic background to it, but it also has a lot of action and drama. It is very good book to read when you want to relax and read a fantasy novel. After reading the book it will cause an eclipse in your mind; the fantasy of the story will overshadow the real world. I loved the book and I recommend it for an easy read.

I think the theme of this book is that you should work together despite your differences with others. Edward and Jacob hate each other but they both came together to protect Bella. They hate each other because Jacob is a werewolf and Edward is a vampire. I think the author did a good job at getting the readers attention because everything is very interesting in the book and you never know whats going to happen next in this book. I did not like how the author did not use challenging vocabulary in this novel. I would recommend this book to teenagers who enjoy reading romantic and fantasy books.
