About this ebook

In this #1 New York Times bestselling John Clark thriller, author Tom Clancy takes readers into the shadowy world of anti-terrorism and gets closer to reality than any government would care to admit...

Ex-Navy SEAL John Clark has been named the head of Rainbow, an international task force dedicated to combating terrorism. In a trial by fire, Clark is confronted with a violent chain of seemingly separate international incidents. But there is no way to predict the real threat: a group of terrorists like none the world has ever encountered, a band of men and women so extreme that their success could literally mean the end of life on earth as we know it.

Its all right i guess. No real spec ops team is that square in real life. Most gen z would find the novel dull. The evil vegan terrorist's plot to depopulate humanity from the earth is very frightening, unusual for far left ideology to be used as villians in this type of writing.

This is the beginning of Clancy's down slide. After this he just wrote them (or had them written in his name) for the money. It is a good story, but takes a radical twist toward the end that is reminiscent of a 1970s B movie plot. I own it and have read it several times, but it isn't on the level of his earlier work.

It takes and intelligent person to read this book and you have to finish it. Most of the bed reviews were from people who didn't finish it. It is an excellent plot and will require you to either read the book twice or to keep a notebook to jot the characters and locations down to keep things straight. When a book makes you think its worth reading... I don't think some of the other reviewers would agree.

About the author

A little more than thirty years ago Tom Clancy was a Maryland insurance broker with a passion for naval history. Years before, he had been an English major at Baltimore’s Loyola College and had always dreamed of writing a novel. His first effort, The Hunt for Red October, sold briskly as a result of rave reviews, then catapulted onto the New York Times bestseller list after President Reagan pronounced it “the perfect yarn.” From that day forward, Clancy established himself as an undisputed master at blending exceptional realism and authenticity, intricate plotting, and razor-sharp suspense. He passed away in October 2013.
