From the 1st time I delved into Anita's world I was immersed and hooked. I have looked forward to every release. Each book was better and better. I still love the characters, universe and writing style. However, this is the 1st in the series that I have been able to step away from and read something else. I usually finish these in a day or two. This took me almost a week. The action was low, the guys front and center were not the best and plot seemed not as fleshed out as it could have been. No more room..

Found this one hard to read. Liked the action and crime scenes but i dont need a recap of the last 20 books every 5 pages. If you've made it this far in the series we don't need massive descriptions of every character anita has a thought about. Also we get it... she's 30 now and not 25 anymore, her life views have changed like any normal human and she has learned how to be happy, another topic that doesn't need talked about every 5 pages.

Its time to retire Anita Blake.The stories have lost their excitement and flavor. The sex is even bad. Kill Jean-Claude and let them all die with him!
