About this game

"Now the trumpet summons us again, not as a call to bear arms, though arms we need; not as a call to battle, though embattled we are – but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle..."
– President John F. Kennedy

HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Twilight Struggle puts the player at the center of the Cold War, the political and economic struggle between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R that spanned 5 decades from the 1950's to the 1990's. Designed by award winning creators Ananda Gupta and Jason Matthews, players control one of the two modern superpowers, as they work to spread their dominance throughout the world via political influence and coup attempts. But if either side triggers nuclear war, it's game over!

CARD BASED EVENTS
The event cards in the game are based on actual historical events from the Cold War era. Through the playing of these events, players exert their superpower's influence as they attempt to gain allies and regional control of the globe. From the early days of De-Stalinization, to the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War and beyond, players are immersed in the actual events of the struggle between these two nations to be the dominant superpower in the world!

Love this game. Great job on the mobile side as well. Works well with S5 neo - but is a huge battery strain. Interface works well. AI is at times frustrating. It's pretty easy to win with no handicap, so I usually put a 10 handicap for the opposing side I am playing which will make the outcome of the game unknown. I am wondering if this handicap also affects the dice roll as it gets SUPER FRUSTRATING the coup attempts. I have documented over 80 rolls/battles cards, etc.. I average 2.65 per coup roll, AI averages 3.9!! Huge difference and at times makes it nearly impossible to win. They win nearly all war cards, and don't get me started on the imbalance of the re-alignment roles (can never win if even - I documented 15 losses in a row....when both +2). This is my biggest complaint of the game. 2nd complaint would be the time AI takes to complete moves. Perhaps it is the speed of my phone. AI often makes ridiculous moves such as using a 1 ops card to battle a 3 country (and will win). AI will often lose by nuclear war, and AI often seems to know which cards in my hand especially on headline phase (probably like playing someone really good with a good memory).

This app works just as well as the PC game. The AI has gotten better, the audio and visuals are great, and I like the cross-platform play. Wish it was available for my friends who have iPhone though. Glad there are push notifications for multiplayer now. I'm not sure if I've just gotten so used the AI or if I've just gotten much better but the game has become ridiculously easy in singleplayer. I just won a game with 56 VP. I never lose, so this isn't a fluke. I usually only win by 20-30 VP though.

Amazing game... frustratingly buggy. I sent a ticket in a week ago to support, and no response. Most recent issue: it stopped sending notifications. I can't enable them. Android just says "this app doesn't send notifications" and the option to turn on notifications is disabled (grayed out). Bit of a deal breaker to have to check manually if it's your turn again.
