The parts similar to original metal slug games are kinda fun, and skill does play a factor. Unfortunately, they ruin things by making everything based on hero levels and equipment. No matter how good you are, it always boils down needing to do a certain amount of damage in a limited amount of time. Once you level characters to overcome the artificial limits, the game is too easy and requires no skill at all.

The game is fun, I played It a bit on PC. Sucks on mobile though because of no controller support. Touch screen controls sucks, and it's baffling that a game that's been ported to PC doesn't have controller support. My razer kishi doesn't work and I've seen people saying an Xbox controller doesn't work either. If controller support is added, I'll update the review. For now, it's 2 stars.

Most fun I've had with a mobile game in a while. The same feel of the arcade metal slug but with a face lift. Plenty of things to do and explore. lots of events and game modes , cool weapons and characters. There are micro transactions and in terms of value , it's not great tbh BUT I dont feel forced to buy and most items are cosmetics .. you definitely dont need to spend and I'm doing just fine completing the campaign and events with the starter weapons you earn in the beginning. Solid game 👍
