Les contes peuvent servir à instruire et aussi à distraire. Souvent, le conte a une fonction didactique et ils transmettent des leçons culturelles. On y présente la véritable autorité, héritière de la sagesse et de l'expérience de l'âge. Par contre, la malhonnêteté, la jalousie, l'irrespect, l'indiscrétion, le mensonge et l'égoïsme y sont fustigés.

Often the stories have a didactic function and they convey cultural lessons. It presents the true authority, owner of the wisdom ; and experience of age. On the other hand, dishonesty, jealousy, disrespect, indiscretion, lies and selfishness are castigated there.
