'Bootstrap Russian Grammar' provides the solid grounding in grammar basics that is the key to mastering Russian as a second language. Grammatical rules and concepts are clearly explained in order of importance. Each topic builds on the last - step-by-step.

Hundreds of new words are introduced alongside the grammar to help learners quickly build their Russian speaking and comprehension prowess.

Starting from the beginning, the idea is progress in small self-contained steps (called 'topics'). Each topic builds on the last, by incrementally adding new grammatical patterns, new vocabulary and lots and lots of useful examples.

Each topic includes a thorough explanation of the grammar and then lots of examples that illustrate the grammar. Each example includes an English translation, as well as notes highlighting how each example illustrates that topic's grammar, as well as the meanings of new Russian words.

A companion BOOK is now available called "BootStrap Russian Grammar". The book contains all the content contained in this book - including 200 grammar topics and over 3000 example phrases.

Ratings and reviews

Massive disappointment - £23 for an app with ridiculous errors. For example: a response requires a dash. Both m-dash and n-dash are available options but if you 50/50 choose the wrong one the response is marked incorrect! Another: time and time again the word that you need to select literally isn't there - there is no way of completing the question! This is by far and away one of the best grammar apps available but in its present form it is nothing but a frustrating rip-off. Get it fixed!

I've barely used this so far but the way this is set out seems like a very good home lesson/reference guide for grammar. It seems it's best paired with he book. Not only do you get the app for free. But you Also get it in book form. Because sometimes it's simply easier to turn a page than search through an app. I just need to buy said book, and I can have all those burning grammar questions answered. Without need for proper tuition.
