I am a semi-professional bluegrass musician & StrumMachine is as important to me as the case that holds my bass. It allows me to practice songs on infinite repeat at any tempo. The chords relieve the boredom of playing "by myself" as it were. My band uses it to teach new songs to each other – we'd be lost without it. Finally, Luke's transcription of "All You Need Is Love" shows that StrumMachine is sufficiently versatile to handle a complex twisty Lennon/McCartney tune. It will work for you.

I hate paying for apps, but I love Strum Machine so much I'm delighted to subscribe. I use it every day to practice flatpicking, and it has helped my timing immensely. I also like that I can measure my progress as I increase the tempo on a song. The features are rich and it works extremely well. It's a challenge to find a bluegrass song that is not already in the library, but it's straightforward to add your own if you want.

Simple yet versatile backing track tool for practicing bluegrass/old-time - much more fun than playing with a metronome. Huge library of tunes which easy to customise (key, chord sequence, bpm, etc) or you can make up your own really easily. Speedup function is also really useful. Agree with another review that it would be nice to customise the strum patterns, hopefully this will be on the roadmap...
