Not sure when they suddenly introduced ads but this has made the app not only unbearable but renders it virtually unusable, i.e. worthless. If you want to listen to an audio book before bed or while cooking or doing chores, the thing stops every so often to play two stupid game apps in a row. (Which, just because they advertise on other apps, I would never download anyway.) So you have to stop, wait, close them separately. Annoying if you got your fingers up a chicken's azz. Absolute trash app.

The ads that the free version of @Voice displays never stop reading aloud. If the screen is off, you won't even notice them while listening continuously. If you are reading from screen, you may see a full screen ad when a new file or chapter is loaded only. I really don't understand your comment.

Extremely powerful app. It can even edit your epubs--though do keep a backup in case your xhtml formatting isn't compatible with the app's. You can finetune pronunciation through IPA SSML, X-sampa SSML, and if you edit the text you can use voice annotations to change language mid-sentence if you need to finetune pronunciation to a language (requires self-editing though). You can bookmark individual sentences, whereas in MoonReader, that's a bit messier (though MR has customizable colours).

Excellent app, strait forward if you are using its basic functions with a really impressive menu of customization options if you explore the interface. My favorite feature is the edit speech function that allows you to replace the audio output for a given string, great for skipping in text citations!
