Ratings and reviews

EDIT: please never use AI. Humans are better. I enjoy doing the lessons. It can be initially hard to navigate to the screen do more practice other than the daily review. If there is a way to do a general "review" more than the daily review, I'd love to do that for when I miss a few days. also I wish there was a dark mode. (I'll check again but I don't think there is one...)

I love Mango and prefer it to other "freemium" language learning apps. For one, I was able to access full courses using my local library card, which is amazing. I feel that is much better for beginners and helps teach actual useful phrases for conversation. I really love the slides that explain culture and correct usage of certain words. Although, if you are considering learning a language that doesn't use Latin/Roman script, it seems like you do have to learn the writing system on your own

Free through several organizations including many public libraries (with library card), visually simple and clean, not gamified, provides useful and relevant cultural and language tips alongside regular lessons, and as far as I can tell does not use AI in any significant way, if at all. Also lets you jump to any lesson you'd like, so if you know you're ready to jump ahead you can (and you can also jump back anytime you feel you need to)
