i love this app! my only problem is that the strokes wont register half the time when writing.

No writing support for traditional. Sadly it's a miss for me for that reason. I selected "traditional" and started the placement test. It was supposed to take 10 minutes but the reading portion alone took 30 because the algorithm is funny and won't finish the test until you give up and pick "I don't know" as opposed to guessing as you would in an exam. Then the kicker: the writing portion only handles simplified so it didn't recognize my input. I wouldn't have wasted my time if I'd known.

Outstanding app! I've tried a lot of Chinese learning apps, and this is by far and away the best! It properly explains the etymology, the context learning is superb, the amount of repetition is great, the charts are great, the ads are unobtrusive. This is exactly what was in my head when I was thinking of writing my own Chinese app - how did you reach inside my mind??? Edit - those are related YouTube clips, not ads? And it all ties into the learning? Oh man, this app deserves 10 stars!
